TwelveMotion
I had a forum that I made a long time ago, but now the CPanel is different and I am having some trouble working it. How do I get a phpBB forum now?
TCH-Don
There was so much trouble with phpBB forum being hacked that it was removed from cpanel. You will need to download it from the phpBB web site and install it yourself. Or you can use cpanels fantastico to install SMF, a more secure forum and it is easy to upgrade. TwelveMotion
Well ok, I am not attached to phpBB or anything. SMF sounds fine, does it have themes and stuff?
TCH-Thomas
Yes it is customizable. Not by default, but you can check out http://www.simplemachines.org/ for themes, addons and much more.
Samrc
SMF forum is a lovely open-source forum that has just been a pleasure to work on. Never tried phpBB so I couldn't tell you how it compares.
surefire
I haven't used it yet, but this looks pretty slick: h*tp://getvanilla.com/tour/posting/ Vanilla Forum
carbonize
Have a look at www.opensourcecms.com where you can test several forum scripts and even log into the admin sections.
