charles Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 (edited) 1. Is it possible to run Movable Type on your system using ImageMagick and MySQL (does anyone run it on TCH?) 2. Is it possible to run Typo3 on your system using ImageMagick and MySQL (does anyone run it on TCH?) 3. When using Jail Shell instead of ssh, is it still possible to sync (upload) files using rsync? ADDED: Install apps? 4. Is procmail installed? 5. Is it possible to create a dummy mail account (for a mailing list) and maintain a .forward file (or through procmail, whatever) via a php script? ADDED: 6. What is the cost of a fixed IP? 7. What is the cost of private ns's? (I assume only for reseller accts). Edited July 10, 2003 by charles Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hang in there Charles, I am sure some will answer more of your questions. As to MT, yes there are many using MT there is a help site with info if you need it , help Is it possible to run Typo3 on your system using ImageMagick and MySQL since ImageMagick and MySQL are here, I would think you could install it. No procmail in not installed, see this thread this is a third party tool, and not supported by the host or cpanel, but it looks like David got it working. For the rest you will have to wait for the gurus, sorry. Hope you will be happy here, I know I am. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Many of us run MT on here. Image::Magick is installed on all servers as is MySQL and MT works fine with both. I am not familiar with Typo3 but it should run fine as well if the requirements are Image::Magick and MySQL. We do not support Promail but some users may be able to comment on how they have set things up. The Private nameservers information can be found on our Help Pages. MailMan is provided on the cPanel as an option for maintaining a mailing list. You can set up as many mail accounts as you need. Quote
charles Posted July 10, 2003 Author Posted July 10, 2003 Rick, 3. Please answer. 4. So it is installed then? 6. Please answer. 7. Please answer. Would it be better if I called to get my questions answered? At what time can support be reached? I'm in Europe... Quote
TCH-Sales Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 I think what Rick is saying is that some people have got it running on their own, but no we do not install it by default. Support can be reached here, the online opperator, the help desk, by email, ect... many many ways to get your questions answered here! Quote
charles Posted July 11, 2003 Author Posted July 11, 2003 Cerealkeeler, Okay, great, sounds good to me. The only thing I haven't found is a phone number to talk to a live CS Rep. Could someone answer questions 3, 6 and 7 then? It may sound like I'm nagging, but I just want to know the things I can and cannot do beforehand. Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 There is only an emergency phone number bu try the support page or maybe one of the support staff may answer you, now that the big server move is done Quote
Head Guru Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 3. When using Jail Shell instead of ssh, is it still possible to sync (upload) files using rsync? ADDED: Install appsYes this can be done. 6. What is the cost of a fixed IP? We only sell dedicated IP's to nameservers and ssl sites. The cost is $2.25/month 7. What is the cost of private ns's? (I assume only for reseller accts). There is no charge to our resellers for private dns. Thanks Quote
