Audio Chat

Hey people,

 

I was wondering if anyone knew of any Audio Chat Rooms which can be downloaded and installed onto my website.

 

The reason I ask is because my website is predominantly an audio based hip hop forum and from time to time there are people who want to, as they say, "battle" eachother 'live'. So i have been searching for audio chats but can only find ones hosted elsewhere like yahoo chat etc...

 

Is there such a thing or is it not possible due to bandwidth usage etc?

Not sure it´s possible (bandwidth especially) but you could see if skypecasts is something for you.

I do not believe you would be able to install an audio chat program on a virtual hosting account.

 

You would be able to do it on a dedicated server if you found the software.

cheers thomas, I am looking into the possibility of skypecast... just need to assess whether people use skype, because we all know how lazy people can be when it comes to downloading and installing new software

Maybe you can find a cheaper solution. I just googled for audio chat software and happened upon it.

Your best bet is to use an outside product such as Skype, Yahoo, MSN etc. This way you save your bandwidth and don't have to worry to much about the technical side.
