I'm now interested in playing with Google for some SEO and submitting a sitemap.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how-to, not-to, etc.?

My site is just a personal plaything, but I'm trying to learn about all this stuff as a hobby.

FYI - I did read some of the SEO tutorials, but I couldn't pull a whole lot out of them as I'm still learning.

I'm no expert, but I did hear that the meta keywords tag is dead. :D

I tend to visit Search Engine Watch for info on that sort of thing - most of it is a little over my head for my own personal sites, but some of it did come in handy for one I needed to show up on the engines.

Good luck!

From what I understand, one key ingredient is to have links to your site from related sites. And a link on the TCH Family pages wouldn't hur either! :D

Okay, now I guess we can all make fun of me for not finding this using Google. I HATE when people do what I just did.

Sorry if this hit anyone that way.

;) Its happened to me before too. You hit your forehead and say DOH!

Yeah. Been there. It's okay! We don't mind. Well, I don't mind, at least, even if I can't speak for others. Sometimes I just need people to remind me of the obvious.

Well, thanks to the Google link above, I was able to make a sitemap and submit it to the big G. They reviewed it and say it is error free.

Thanks again for your help guys. I don't think that I'll gain anything by this other than experience, but it's good to get the support from you anyway.
