Vintage Lover
What are authenticated users? My traffic numbers show the same numbers as the authenticated users numbers. Authenticated users used to be minimal in the past? Is this bad? Sandra
TCH-Bruce
Each time you log into cPanel you are an authenticated user. Have a forum, blog and log in as administrator, that is an authenticated user. Is it bad? Not if you are the one doing the accessing. TCH-Bruce
I found more info. The Authenticated Users listed in AWStats is a result of a Web server login. However it can also be a result of an HTTP Header Request including information in the Authenticated User field. This by no means indicates that someone has hacked into your Web site. Vintage Lover
Thanks Bruce. It just worries me because ALL of my hits appear to be authenticated user logins. All 22K of them. I know that wasn't me the whole time. My site has always been run on blog system, but now I added a shopping cart. Maybe it's because the cart is running on a secure server? TCH-JimE
If your clients are logging into the cart to buy something, that would also count too. Also if they log into the blog, that could also be them. Just a few ideas JimE
