What is your career? And do you think it's the most stressful?

 

I am a manager for a casual dining restaurant (Ruby Tuesday). And I DO think it's one of the most stressful ones out there.

I'm a Math Teacher and although it can be stressful I suspect I cause more than I get.

I run master control for a TV station.

Stressful would be a vacation

I am a senior programmer for a software company.

I live on stress!

I'm an Electronics Tech for the FAA. I run the full gamit from very non-stressfull to having airplanes wait to land while I get something fixed.

I teach computer science at Miami University in Ohio. There are certainly stressful times (like the beginning and end of each semester), but in general not too stressful.

I'm a technical writer for a sofware development company. I write installation guides, administration guides, user guides, and SDK documentation for all the products our company produces. I just switched jobs this month, and at my new company, I'm the only writer in the whole company, so the stress level of my job has seen a marked increase in the last little bit, but its great. I wouldn't say it is extremely stressful, though like many jobs, it sure has its moments. But overall, I'd say my job at my company isn't all that stressful. When it gets a bit stressful, I just head over to the break room for a round of pool.

Being mathmatically dyslexic (if there is such a thing) ... I can vouch for that!

I am a spare time researcher (ie unemployed).

My day is as stressful as I want it to be mostly.

I work in finance. Stress tends to depend on the market.

I used to be a hardware tech. Pretty stressful. I'm sure there are others out there who understand when I say you would get that sick feeling in the pit of your stomache when you heard the pager go off... especially during the super bowl!!!

 

Now I'm in Open Systems Services, where we basically manage Windows and UNIX servers, as well as networking equipment. I have a set schedule, no on-call rotations, and very little stress.

 

Hopefully soon I'll be taking a UNIX admin position. Bring on the stress!!!

I am a chemist in a local oil refinery working shifts which also incorperates being a firefighter and first aider. So yes, when it's all going wrong, it can get pretty stressful!

I work for a large insurance company's corporate offices in technical support. We create/update internal websites and various other projects in support of the other units in our department. In other words, I'm a peon.

 

The stress comes and goes depending on workload, deadlines, and the mood of my boss, but overall it's not bad.

I worked in the warehouse for a plastic company, of course I was the only one in the warehouse, and it was very stressful a lot of the times, especially when you have 3 or 4 trucks waiting to be loaded and unloaded.

 

I should have retired when I was 62, but I liked my job, so worked a few more years full time, then retired to three days, and work in the office now. Now they have two working in the warehouse.

well im a student, work in a cimema (so can be in charge of up to 500 people at a time, scary thought ) and also do a bit of multimedia work.

I am an applications developer for the marketing services division of a credit company. I haven't had time to check/reply posts in this (my favorite) forum in about 3 months...so, yeah, i've been stressed out. We just finished some big projects, so we're at a lull. But i do love my job...even with the stress!

I do a mix of web design, work for a local barn, subbing, tutoring, house/pet sitting, etc. All self-employed/freelance work--so I set my own schedule/workload. I'm as stressed as I want to be and I love my jobs... although when nothing's coming in and the bills are due soon I have to say any 9-5 (and all associated stress!) starts looking good.

Well, Currently.. I have a company that he offers services of Technology Information, Webdesign and Hosting. ( with ideas to grow )

Previously,,, my career in computers initiated in a great bank in the area of Tele-Processing, Contract Administration of Hardware and Software (Mainframes and PC´s), Tecnical Support Administration, user in MVS, CIC´s, Programer in APL with ADSRL, Adabas and Natural.

In PC, programer wiht DBase and Clipper.

I'm a software engineer for a very large software / internet company. Not very stressful at all, knock on wood. Money magazine has rated software engineering as the best overall career in the country. I'm pretty satisfied so far. It depends a lot on where you work though.

I am a Mechanical Engineer. I design high-temperature (800-2200ºF) large (up to 12 feet in diameter) butterfly valves and slide gates for industrial applications (automotive plants, steel mills, chemical plants for example).

Right now I am a stay at home mom during the day (to 4 kids) and a Culinary student at night.

 

I know I get stressed but for the most part I love it

I used to work in an orange juice factory but I couldn't concentrate so they canned me. Now I work in the factory where the orange juice companies get their oranges. I stand beside a conveyor belt and take the large oranges and put them in one basket and the small oranges in another basket. It's extremely stressful. All day long, decisions, decisions, decisions.
