TCWriter
Is there a chance Fantastico will offer the new version soon? Would it be easier to wait for that, or should I just bite the bullet and "enjoy" my first WP upgrade? TC
TCH-Thomas
I am not sure, but I think it´s up to them when it will be upgraded so I would go for a manual upgrade which I think is just as simple as if you installed it manually the first time. Brief tutorial: 1. Backup your wordpress directory through cpanel + the database (Very important) 2. Download the new version from wp´s site and extract it on your own machine. 3. Disable eventual plugins 4. Upload all files & folders to the wordpress directory except wp-config.php 5. Run the update file (ie http://yourtchdomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php) 6. Enable plugins
TCH-Tim
Fantastico seems to be pretty fast with their updates, but I like to upgrade my scripts myself so I can get them the day they are released. If it's your first time upgrading WordPress I would recommend going through the detailed instructions first so you can gain an understanding of what's going on. (It will also help you better learn the WP structure.) After you do it once or twice, you'll be able to do it in your sleep. TCWriter
Thanks. Went ahead and did it. A white knuckler for the bit-challenged, but after only a moment or two of terrori, it all works. TC
TCH-Tim
See, what'd I tell you. WP makes it pretty easy. Glad you got it going.

TCH-Tim
If you installed it through Fantastico yes, otherwise no.
musicfrisk
I did it through Fantastico....
TCH-Tim
Let me back up. To upgrade to 2.0.3, you would have to do it yourself because Fantastico has not released the latest version yet. In general Fantastico allows for one-click updates but they are sometimes a little behind on getting the latest stuff out. Sorry for the confusion.
