Guest zethilone Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Hey! Is there anyway I can convert and avi file to and swf file?
TCH-Rob Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 You need Flash MX In Flash MX, open a new document Use the File Menu, Select Import then select Windows Video (AVI) and then import your video clip Then export your movie to SWF.
Lianna Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Hey will SWISH do that? Now I've never tried Swish, but I know some folks that swear by it for low cost alternative to Flash. Hmmmm. http://download.com.com/3000-2186-7747039.html
TCH-Sales Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 This post has been moved from pre-sales questions. Please try to keep your posts within the boundries of the forum you choose to put it in. Thanks!
fffclub Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Hey will SWISH do that? Now I've never tried Swish, but I know some folks that swear by it for low cost alternative to Flash. Hmmmm. Istover I don't think so. Swish is okay for basic text animations. The biggest improvement from Flash 5 to Flash MX was the inclusion of video, Swish lacks to firepower of Flash for serious work.
borfast Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 You don't "convert" from an .AVI file to an .SWF file because they're two completely different things. AVI is a video file format and SWF is for Macromedia Flash animations. You can indeed import video files into flash animations but that's not "converting" the AVI file to an SWF. There's also another way which is to turn the video into vectorial frames. A good example is here: http://www.egomedia.com/default2.html Check out the "EGOTHEFILM" desktop icon and you'll see what I mean. If you like flash animations, be sure to also check out the rest of their website, it's really cool http://www.egomedia.com I know I've seen some tools to do this but I really can't remember where. Maybe google can help you out.
TCH-Rob Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 This tool can do it for you Here. Here is another Another, and here is how you do it with Swish; Import the avi file into an animation program like Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop. Then export from animation shop as a animated gif, then with this animated gif you can import into swish.
Beck Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 For such converting I prefer to use Video to Flash Converter. I think it's really good in quality and features. I downloaded it from here: http://www.geovid.com/Video_to_Flash_Converter/
