eldric Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 I have two domain names that I would like to point to my site. One is included with setup--no worries. Thumbs Up But how do I set up the second domain name as an alias? Thanks!!! Quote
TCH-Don Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 If you mean you have mysite.com and want mysite.net to point to mysite.com that can be done. If you want both domain names to point to the same site justset up the one you want to use as your primary domain name with an account and then submit a Help Desk ticket and give us the name of the second domain and we will park it on top of the first one. quote from Rick's answer to that same question. hope this helps Quote
serve-me.com Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 great, I'll do this too ... I currently have a redirect for my 2nd 3rd 4th domains (not TCH related) this should solve that problem Quote
TCH-Rick Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 I do want to clarify, you can have as many domains as you want parked on top of your primary domain but all must point to the public_html directory of your primary site, i.e. entering mydomain2.com will look the same as entering mydomain1.com. You may not point other domains to a subdirectory on your site unless you have a reseller account. This includes redirecting by means outside of TCH such as through your registrar. Quote
TCH-Sales Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Rick, ya beat me to it! Good point of clarifcation though, just incase that was taken wrong. Quote
serve-me.com Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 right, I'll upgrade to reseller account now (was going to do that sooner or later anyway). Thanks for the info. regards, -Brett Quote
TCH-Rick Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 I think you'll be happier. You'll have a lot more control and can create accounts for your domains yourself. Quote
serve-me.com Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 any idea how long it takes? (I sent ticket, not the reply time, but the actual upgrade time) regards, -Brett Quote
Lianna Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Upgrades are normally handled in the same time frame as new account setups: 6-24 hours. Quote
serve-me.com Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 ok, I'll be patient, this was my fault for not reading the TOS carefully when i signed up regards, -Brett Quote
