Hello People :D

im sorry, but i have to ask another question of all you and pick at some more knowlegeable brains :)

from OSWD i have found a nice template ideal for a company im thinking of starting in a few years, basically one of my cities only (that ive seen) cycle courier services for little objects, i think i could do this then work up to motorcycles then a van.. anyways enough background info :lol2:

I downloaded a OSWD template and it has CSS in, which i like CSS im learning about it, but when i open the index page in dreamweaver well its all messed up as obviously it doesnt know what it is doing! so Navigation is missing and Styled text areas are going crazy!!!

how can i get it to load in dreameaver just as it looks on my browser :)

thanks in Advance :P

Is your CSS file loaded in the same relative location as pointed to in the html file? If so, there is also the posibility you are not looking at a preview of the page. Page design mode does not display the page as the browser does. Page Preview does however.

doh! i should "set site" and define a new one!

edit - by preview mode do you mean when i press F12 to open in browser?

F12 is preview in a browser which should work too.

I was thinking more the Preview mode in the Design View / Code View / Preview options of Dreamweaver.

You have to remember that as many WYSIWYG programs fall apart on, is thats its impossible at times to display the template correctley.

Your best thing to do is to have page saved on your computer which uses the template your talking about and have that in the browser window. Make your change in Dreamweaver, refresh the browser window and see what your latest change did.

I'd also suggest setting up a dummy site in a subfolder of your domain, so you can move the finished design and product across and / or get people's opinions on it before it goes live.
