jayson
I got this program installed on my computer, could not delete it, so I ended up renaming it to winkzr32.dll.vir, it is a backdoor program. is there a way to remove it? I found only one link for the file,
TCH-Bruce
Panda Active Scan is said to remove it. You need to use Internet Explorer to run Active Scan I believe.
Madmanmcp
Jayson, is this new or something left over from your last escapade? If its new I would suggest you start being a little more careful and stop visiting the places you should not be visiting. These trojans and backdoors are nothing to play with and sooner than later you will end up having to have someone fix it and pay them some serious money. jayson
not really sure how I got it, but I finnaly got rid of the file, I will see what happens in the next day or so
TCH-JimE
I believe that you will need to do your scanning in safe mode Jayson, it makes it easier to remove. As for renaming it, something else keeps putting it there so I suggest booting into safe mode and scanning with several different bits of software JimE

TCH-Bruce
Welcome to the forums fischy You can try downloading a copy of Panda AntiVirus and install it to run it. Once you have removed the virus you can uninstall it without needing to purchase it.

Madmanmcp
Sometimes you need to boot into safe mode and run the program to remove these things. When you are normally in windows these files are "busy" because they are running when you boot up. When you run in safe mode only the necessary windows files are loaded and these other files are not so they are easily deleted.

TCH-Bruce
Have you followed the installation instructions and does your computer meet their requirements? I believe it requires a working version of Internet Explorer be installed.
TCH-MikeM
I've always been partial to using AVG's free virus scanner. It hasn't failed me in quite a few years. http://free.grisoft.com

PeterPeter
I just sent off an enquiry to them, will report back when I get an answer from them. But their replies aren't the fastest in town.
