GroovyFish Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 football (are you ready for some? LOL) Jim, no we don't carry anything with Chicory, but it's funny you mention that. I was in New Orleans for the first time last week and had my first coffee with chicory at Cafe Du Monde. Quote

GroovyFish Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 cardinals I saw that this morning, I had to chuckle a little, I am originally from St. Louis. Though, I guess if I had to choose sides, I would want the Cubs to win. Really liked Cafe Du Monde, but boy was that place packed. Quote
jslagle Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 pope best time is about 7AM, the morning run of beignets is fresh from the kitchen and the chicory coffee hasn't eaten it's way out of the urn Quote
ejh Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 Arizona I know you were thinking of the baseball team- but I'm talking of the Arizona Cardinals- football. My Packers lost to them! Quote

curtis Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 blue I go to Cafe Du Monde every 2 weeks or so. The beignets are the best in south La. but I don't like the chicory coffee. I don't like the flavor so I go with one of the other very dark roast coffees. Quote

jslagle Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 bird When I lived in Dallas we had an engineering office in New Orleans and I visited there every month or so. I transfered to the corporate office in Reston, VA 6 years ago and I haven't been back to New Orleans since I was introduced to chicory in southern la years ago. We stopped at a small cafe for breakfast. I ordered coffee and the waitress asked if I wanted unleaded or "the real thing". I assumed she meant decaf or regular so I said I wanted the real thing and that's what I got. Probably 10 times as strong as Cafe Dumonde. woooot woooot I was wide awake for days. Quote

I am glad to know that some places make their chickory coffee stronger... I liked the coffee at Cafe Du Monde, but it didn't knock my socks off like I was expecting. But then, I make my coffee really strong anyway. Quote
