Vintage Lover
I need a total newbie tutorial on how to FTP web pages using something like Netscape communicator. Thanks! Sandra
wampthing
I would take a look at something like CoreFTP. It is a free program that is used just for what you are looking.

Kevan
What program are you using to edit your web pages? Many editors have the ability to ftp your pages to your site to. Some call it "publish your site"
Vintage Lover
What program are you using to edit your web pages? Many editors have the ability to ftp your pages to your site to. Some call it "publish your site" I am using Netscape's Composer. I know there are better alternatives out there but it's free.
Kevan
I am using Netscape's Composer. Look for the section on 'HTTP publishing' in Composer. The good news is Composer can upload your pages to your website. It's just a matter of setting up the program properly. Try looking in Help for "Publish". You'll need your ftp settings provided in your welcome e-mail from TCH. Once you get setup it will just be a matter of clicking the Publish button. Let us know how it goes.... TCH-Bruce
If you are looking for a good free HTML composer here are links to two of them. They both support publishing your site. NVU HTML-Kit
Vintage Lover
Thanks Bruce. These look great. Do you have any experiece with them? How "clean" is the code?
TCH-Bruce
Sorry, no I use a plain text editor to do HTML and CuteFTP to upload the pages.
Vintage Lover
I downloaded NVU. Very easy to use. I created a "test" page but I keep getting an 503 authentication error message. I used one of the ftp accounts that is showing on my ftp control panel in cPanel. I hope I am using the correct password. How can I get another welcome email sent to me? TCH-Don
How can I get another welcome email sent to me? Open a help desk ticket to the techs, with your account name and domain for a start.
