Robmonster
Hi there, The main Fantastico site says it supports installing PHPBB. I cannot see it as an available item in my Fantastico areas though. Any ideas? RM
TCH-Tim
If you go to the Scripts Library in cPanel you will find phpBB there.
Robmonster
If you go to the Scripts Library in cPanel you will find phpBB there. I'm not seeing anything that says Scripts Library, within the main cpanel page or within the Fantastico subsection... RM
TCH-Thomas
I think it may depend on which theme your cpanel use, but in monsoon theme its located in addon scripts in the CGI Scripts section.

Hmm, thats wierd. I would have expected all options to be available regardless of the theme used to display them... I wonder what other items I'm not seeing due to the theme. (I'm using the default, which is Blue Lagoon I think...) I'll take a look at changing the theme.
TCH-Bruce
phpBB is not in Fantastico because it under Addon Scripts in cPanel (bluelagoon).

You may have figured it out by now, but all the themes have the same options, they just may refer to them by slightly different names. FilmBuffRich
Since we seem to be talking about phpBB here, when will be able to update through the CP to 2.0.20? Thanks!
TCH-Carl
We do not have control over the updates of scripts in cPanel, they release a new version as and when they like. It is always safer to download and install the current one from the vendor's site.
TCH-Don
And if you are running an out of date version their site will have a changed files only download Remember to change back to the default skin if you are using another skin.
dkwhite
Since we seem to be talking about phpBB here, when will be able to update through the CP to 2.0.20? Thanks! You really don't want 2.0.20. It's full of bugs. I just spent the last hour checking the TCH forums to make sure they wouldn't be updating to Mysql 5 for a while because I PHPBB isn't currently working with it. There's bugs with the quote system, bugs with the private messanging, etc. the list is long. stay away from phpbb 2.0.20. Stick with 2.0.19 for now. TCH-JimE
Nothing wrong with PHPBB 2.0.20 I have it working just fine, and TCH does not run Mysql 5 so there will be no compatability problems JimE
TCH-Tim
You can find information on the latest phpBB bugs in their bug tracker here. The changelog, showing major changes from version to version, is here. Please don't let your installation get too out of date. Forum hacking is a popular hobby these days.
