Heading home to Vegas today to a weekend of rain. But by next week we'll be back up into the 70s with sunshine. Nice. Looking forward to the 110 degree summer.

Posted

Tim and I are going to have the same weather. But after 130 some odd days of no rain I am looking forward to it. We will get enough heat real soon so I am in no hurry.

I'm solar powered so the more sun the better. Guess some rain is good for us, I was just looking forward to getting home and getting some kayaking time in this weekend. Suppose instead I'll be sitting inside all weekend wondering what the big announcement is going to be next week.

Central Florida this week has been GLORIOUS!

Lows in the 60's, highs between 75-82 degrees

Slight breeze, clear, very few clouds, shirt sleeve temp, no humidity

I even took Tuesday off to reorganize and clean my garage. ;)

Was absolutely what I needed....no office, no computer...clean fresh air and no slimy humidity. Even with the very high pollen counts (allergy :D) I LOVE THIS WEATHER!

Thomas you and I are polar opposites.

I DREAD summer and am thankful for this spring. I feel alive and energized by the coolish air!

I hear ya Sami! I've been working in the Orlando/Melbourne/Vero Beach area the past couple of weeks and it's been gorgeous! Even up in the panhandle it's been in the mid to upper 70's and beautiful.

I love Florida!

81 81 82 82 80 are the temps for this week coming up.

This is excellent weather. Ask me again when it's in the upper 90's and high humidity.

I do know one thing - my body can't take cold like it used to so I'd be in trouble if I lived in your beautiful country, Thomas.

It's just started to get warm over here in IL. Today was one of the warmest days of the year even though it rained. :naughty:

Posted

You can't have our rain :P We're still way below normal because of last year's drought.

It was beautiful and in the 60s here in IL yesterday, but we got some major storms in the evening. We drove through one on the way back from Chicago with spectacular lightning. :P

We even got snow 10 minutes from my house. Don't see that in Phoenix every day.

We got some snow here in Vegas on the West side of town. That would be the second time in three years I've seen that happen.

Sorry, I just needed to vent. :)

Thank you for listening.

By the way, what´s the weather in your part of the world?

You want summer? I'll be happy to box it up and send it to you!!!! It's our spring but it'll feel like summer to you. Although, we are enjoying a nice cold front right now. It was in the 80-90s (Fahrenheit) here last week. Hey Bruce, why don't we do an exchange: you send us rain, I send Thomas summer, and I'll send you our drought. ;)

I'd say deal but it's cold again and trying to snow.

Warmest spot in the continental US this morning here in Key West.

Beautiful sunny weather, 79 & 80 expected highs all week. Currently 82 (28 C) with a 9mph breeze off the ocean.

I may have to pay as much as $7,000 this next year in wind insurance and a hurricane may wipe me out later in the year, but for now it's great here.

I'll take snow!!! It'll melt and make water. :goof: We haven't seen a good snowstorm in at least a decade, LOL. In fact, none of my children have ever seen real snow.

Hmm, tornadoes yesterday, and today they decide to have a statewide tornado warning O.o Brilliant, I tell you, brilliant.

Bah, thats an island. You arent part of the continent, we just took you guys in so we could have vacation spots. :goof:

I suppose if you wanted to get technical you could say the Keys are just as much on the continent as the rest of us. But as far as weather is concerned, I don't think you get to group Key West in with the likes of us land lubbers.

Like Rob says, we only took you guys in so we could have sweet vacation spots. And a handy place from which we could keep tabs on Fidel.

Sorry, hurricane Wilma wiped out Fat Albert. He's pretty cool to see and you can spot him from Key West on most days (about 20 miles). They say he's for drug interdiction but we know better. :naughty:

Indeed... When I came into work on Monday in Chicago it was 63F. By lunchtime it was 43F. :naughty:

Been mostly in the 30's and low 40's since with high winds.

Florida's beautiful! Low humidity, comfortable temperatures! Of course in about a month we're gonna be complaining how sticky and hot it is, and then start dodging hurricanes.

We're supposed to be in the low 70's but with chances of several severe thunderstorms.

Gotta love Kansas,.

We're currently 65, under a severe weather watch/warning and all that good stuff,. Definitely spring in the mid-West

We're at 51, with an expected high of 59. Yesterday was mid-60's, and Thursday, we actually had to turn the AC on because it got to 80 inside. Not good for two little ones.

let's see....16(1.8)+32 = 60.8....could be warmer, but I'll agree it sounds pretty good.

This week will see us in the mid-90's all week (with lows in the 70's) with our first 100+ day of the season predicted for Saturday. Seems summer has come a little early this year.

Yes, please send rain to Florida. Here in Key West, any time that we don't have enough rainwater in the storage tanks they add brackish water into our drinking water and hyperchlorinate it! Yuck! If you get a bottle and put tap water into it and let it sit overnight it will smell (and taste) like a swimming pool the next day.

It's been so dry lately that they even reduced the water pressure to conserve. Next they'll be telling us which days we can wash our cars. (It's happened before!)

Posted

Plus they are having severe brush fire problems in central florida with major roadways having to be shut down. Up here in the Panhandle, we're not that bad off, but we're low on the rainfall too!

Posted

It's technically spring in Taiwan, but today... max 30*C (86*F), min 23*C (73.4*F) - it sure feels like summer already!

Hmmm... summer... beach!!! :cool2: It's raining heaps now though... *sigh*

Posted

It's very much summer here. 75F at 8am, and the top temperature is expected to reach 95F.

Thank God I'm on summer vacation, because I'd melt if I went outside.

Yes, please send rain to Florida.

That is being chanted and prayed throughout Central Florida. One of my co-workers lives in an area that has brush fires in previous years and is watching the news intently for any news of the current fires moving in her direction! Yards around here are dry and crispy. Almost lost one of my favorite azalea beds (candy-cane miniatures). Slimy hot here and we are no where near the hottest part of the year! :D

yes in the UK,.. its 0425 and its raining birds are singing, its dark but really "sticky" and warm.. tomorrow is forcast part clouds 17c which i think is about 64F

Right now in Salt Lake City, it's 86 F with an expected high of 93 and an overnight low of 62.

Translated, that is: currently 30 C, with an expected high of 33, and an overnight low of 16.

As for clouds in the sky, I can't speak to that one. My cubicle is in the middle of the office; no windows in sight! :)

It's been hot the last two weeks. It's starting to cool off a little though - only 101 today. That global warming thing seems to be in high gear this year.

There seems to be something wrong with the weather.

Today for the first time in history as I understand it, it snowed in the very most southern part of Sweden today...in august. :)

This should not even happen to the northern parts according to the weather guys.

Snow! What a wonderful concept.

You can have summer, give me FALL! Love the colors, sounds, smells and temp!

Posted

I think I would kill for snow,. Though the temps right now are pretty nice (low 80s, compared to 107 a few weeks ago o.O).

-2... we got to 0 last night, which is a dramatic flip of what we have had up until now.

theres no gradual temperature decrease its been mild, then bang!

I guess I should not be saying that it is expected to get up to 80 degrees (F) today. And that I am wearing shorts.

I don´t know if weather is one of the most unpredictable things in the world or if the meteorologists here in Sweden sucks but yesterday morning they say on the radio that we could expect a snow storm today.

Well, today we had 7C (44.6F) and rain. :)

Don´t get me wrong, I think the meteorologists knows what they do (mostly), but I just love when they don´t (when it´s beneficial for me anyway).

Don´t know what the meteorologists have predicted for tomorrow, but I sure hope it´s atleast 25C (77F) and sun. :P

Posted (edited)

best meteorological mess up wash a guy called Michael fish in England, in the 80's he predicted a beautiful summers day.

but that day a tornado struck and destroyed a lot of stuff.

i can't wait for the first snow storm hopefully thomas' snow is making its way east for me to enjoy :)

I've never coped well with being cold. Snow is pretty to visit, as well as on post cards. I lived in California for most of my life, and that state has a wonderfully moderate climate. Here in the south, it gets wicked hot and humid. But the winters are seriously mild compared to what you folks have to endure. Occasionally, we get the freezing temps..but they don't last long, and quite often, like right now, we get the beautiful days in between.
