nablusi
Greetings All- I set up a site for a client: www.tevuothaaretz.info Later he purchased the domain: www.tevuot.org which I parked on the same site. Now he has not renewed the .info domain, so I want to remove it from the WHM while making the .org domain name the only one. This is important since links to the .org site sometimes redirect to the non-existant .info site and cause error "server not found". I think this is much simpler than my explanation Thank you in advance for your advice! Nablusi
TCH-Don
First unpark the .org then in WHM Modify account select the .info and change the domain name to .org you could the park the .info on the .org until it expires I tried this with a domain I have to experiment on I changed an account I was going to delete to my spare domain it took about 5 minutes for it to resolve to the other account but the links work fine. nablusi
First unpark the .orgthen in WHM Modify account select the .info and change the domain name to .org Thank you, Don! I probably should have figured that out for myself- but was afraid to mess with the settings for the working domain Appreciate your advice- and especially that you tested it out (which gave me confidence to try it...) Looks like all is working now, Thanks again Nablusi
TCH-Mark
Hello, Its good you took the time to confirm this before going ahead with it because when things go wrong it can be a real pain to fix. Well Done
TCH-Don
You are welcome, glad I could help. Whenever I do something like this I first goto the domains cpanel > backup and download the home directory and datatbases and filters and alias with these backups I can always recreate the account and restore it.
