SEO Thoughts:

Not in Google Index :(

First thing, your enquiry into automated SEO software:

It checks your website and lets you know what changes need to be made and after you make them it submits them to about 55 engines. Comes with a rather large manual on what and what not to do for getting your site good rankings. From somebody who does this for a living, what are your thoughts on this kind of software?

I am not a fan of automated software and neither are the search engines. Comes with a rather 'large manual'.

Rob: In the writings offered here at TotalChoice Hosting is a wealth of good information, seriously. In other words, use the resources that we offer here. Take the money that you were going to spend and send it to Head Guru (have it ear marked for Scott's New Truck :D

Now on to knifes and blades (not in any particular order):

1. Move your title tag to just below your <head> tag.

2. First words of your title should be the first words of your description (but overall different wording from your title) and first keywords which should be your most important phrase (which leads me into the next comment).

3. Do keyword analysis....

Read (or re-read) the following:

Keyword Phrases

Keyword Analysis

4. Spend time getting sites to link to your yours. This will involve creating a resources page which will contain links to other sites (we call this reciprocal links).

Good luck.

Ok , here is the longest post for 1 question. Aw Stats shows;

9 different robots     Hits    Bandwidth      Last visit

Inktomi Slurp          1196    28.11 MB        28 May 2003 - 11:16

Unknown robot (identified by 'spider') 1152 41.20 MB 25 May 2003 - 03:09

Jeeves                    897     22.03 MB        21 May 2003 - 00:24

Scooter (AltaVista) 19       339.84 KB       27 May 2003 - 03:28

Alexa (IA Archiver)  17      470.76 KB       08 May 2003 - 05:30

Googlebot (Google) 4       42.49 KB         24 May 2003 - 00:47

Unknown robot (identified by 'crawl') 1 10.62 KB 14 May 2003 - 03:30

Netcraft Web Server Survey 1 0 15 May 2003 - 22:46

Unknown robot (identified by 'robot') 1 10.62 KB 22 May 2003 - 16:32

And it shows;

Links from an Internet Search Engine

- MSN 12 12

- Google 7 75

- Yahoo 1 1

As well as;

Last month Google hit me 94 times and for a short period I had a number 1 ranking for a specific search phrase.

On to my question, after reading some more on what you wrote would it be safe to say I am in the dance with Google?

BTW, I almost have your first truck payment ready, if it werent for having to buy diapers you would have had it by now.

First things first,

BTW, I almost have your first truck payment ready, if it werent for having to buy diapers you would have had it by now.
Go with cloth and a diaper service.... better for you, the budget, the 'bottom' and the environment. We had these cute little washable wrap things (with velcro)... cannot remember what they were called (too long ago) that made cloth diapers sooo easy. You know..... I actually miss those dad-gum diapers!

On to your question:

... safe to say I am in the dance with Google?

Just a little clarification on your wording... 'the dance' occurs during the process of recalculating and re-ranking the entire Google index. During that specific time, anyone who is in the index will be at the dance (although not everyone gets to 'dance').

Since there is no dance going on at this time, you are not 'in the dance'.

I see that you have been visited by Google's fresh bot but I am not confident that you made the queue (which is the first step for the invitation to the dance). There is a minimum amount of 'importance' that one must have in order to be placed in the queue and I do not think you made the cut with your limited number of inbound links. Sorry for the news, but I am an honest guy. :D

Keep working on my suggestions.... you will get there. ;)
