Hi, I'm brand new here--

my existing site was created on Netscape Composer, and I used to click "publish" from within Composer without using FTP client software.

Can I still do that now that I'm with TCH? I keep getting "unexplained error message - 530 login incorrect." Any NN users out there? Detailed help will be MOST appreciated!

many thanks, Joan I.

Well, I'm a netscape user, but I havent dealt with composer in a while. I made up a quick test page in composer, and tried to publish it--here's what I found:

where it asks for ftp info, you have to put in ftp://ftp.yoursite.com--if you skip the "ftp://" part, it won't work

Same for website location--gotta put in the http:// part

I just entered my username and password, then hit publish and it was successful

My help files say a 530 error is unknown password/username info--make sure you didnt make a typo in your password (case-sensitive issue maybe)

Everybody is saying the same thing (look back at the threads from your other post, Turtle just replied).

The only difference is that before propagation, yoursite.com will not work. So, all you have to do is substitute the IP address. That came with your welcome letter, looks something like this: 216.123.456.789

Again, good luck.
