I use Thunderbird only because Outlook does not work with my main email address and has problems with it. This is an email server that is not hosted by TCH, just so you know.

I have installed Thunderbird twice now, but don't seem to know how to set it up.

I wish there was a good tutorial. I need list distribution and multi-email download capability.

Currently I am on Pegasus because my coach is. I like the feel of Thunderbird, but the path to getting setup is not clear to me.

Thanks,

I've been using Thunderbird ever since I made the switch to Linux, but I like Outlook better.

If you like outlook better than thunderbird, you may want to try Evolution... it's more like Outlook than Thunderbird (even includes Exchange plugins if you are forced to use Exchange).

I've been using Thunderbird for about 8 or 9 months now. I like the look of it, and also like how configurable it is. The only thing that I really used Outlook for was the calendar, but I've just d/l Sunbird and am going to give that a go.

Access all my email on that computer, but from any computer I am at. I know I can leave it on the POP3 etc... but it's just easier to use one set of filters, have one inbox, and keep the POP3 pretty empty ;-) I know lots of people that do this with PINE, and remote into the box.

As for something graphical, Thunderbird is OKish.

I've switched to Thunderbird in the last month or so. Love how it handles IMAP.

However, I do miss being able to synchronize my PocketPC contacts and calendar with Outlook. I also used MailFrontier Desktop as my spam filter on Outlook. The filter built in to Thunderbird is not nearly as reliable, nor can I find one that works well with IMAP.

Nevertheless, I really really am liking Thunderbird.

You forgot Gmail :flex:. It's not a client but I send all my mail from my TCH accounts to Gmail - 2 gigs plus of storage and awesome ability to search for anything I'm looking for without having to hunt through folders... it makes a great archive.

I use good old Outlook Express. I like Thunderbird but as this is a shared computer and my girlfriend prefers OE I'll use it. I have used pretty much every client out there. I like the bats templates for replies etc. I loved Thunderbird but it offers me nothing (apart from better security) that OE does not as my spam filtering is done by a third party app (Spamihilator).

I notice you have forgotten to put Opera and Mozilla in your list nor an option for Other

I do the same as Jim. Then also forward those to one AOL email addy.

I use Incredimail. It's actually quite a nice program. OE and Outlook suck for me. I like a program that I can close but will still check the e-mails and IM does that for me, and has a wonderful program for designing stationary/letters for it.
