D.Slatk Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 http://www.talonz.com/ Go there and keep refreshing while on firefox. For whatever reason this doesn't happen in internet explorer. If you notice, the content in the navigation menu and the content in the main area will shift about every 5 refreshes. I really don't know why this is happening and I would like to find out if this is only me or everybody else. Does anybody have any ideas? Remember it's only happening in firefox, and not internet explorer for whatever reason... Quote
section31 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) Yeah, I've seen stuff like this on other sites. Where I load a site and the page doesn't render correctly. Then I just refresh and it fixes the problem. Its obviously something that firefox doesn't like. Don't know what that could be though. Edited April 11, 2005 by section31 Quote
youneverknow Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Firefox 1.0.2. win Xp Pro no problems here. Quote
boxturt Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I don't know why it's doing that but I am seeing it. Appears to condense the main content. Top shifts down and bottom shifts up just a wee bit. Quote
curtis Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Using firefox 1.0.2 winxp. The main content area shifts up or down about 3 px on every 3rd or 4th refresh Quote
owatagal Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I see the same sporadic shifting (Firefox 1.0.1 on Mac). I did notice the HTML doesn't validate; maybe non-Firefox browsers are compensating better and it would stop doing this if you fixed the markup? I was using the W3C validator to check: h**p://validator.w3.org/ Quote
D.Slatk Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) Perhaps that is it. I am trying to convert the layout to CSS with divides right now (wish me luck) to see if that is the problem. Too much of a paint validating a form of the layout I'm not going to use. However, I'll change the doctype. *tries* edit: Don't worry about it... I'll get it later. -.- That might be it, but I don't know why firefox would only make it shift sometimes. Still working on css version. Edited April 11, 2005 by D.Slatk Quote
D.Slatk Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 Actually, now I changed it all to css and am not appearing to have the problem anymore! Yay... Quote
