eflanker
I have been experimenting with the my forums for few weeks by deleting and uploading many files. Most files are tiny gifs or php forum related in large numbers During upload process, after few seconds the server would reject the connection. Since i am only experimenting with my website right now, it involves lot of deleting. Even if i delete the (folder) files through FTP , it will stop responding So this problem is not just upload related. I always have to disconnect and reconnect and upload over and over again, but now i am tired of this, so i am asking for solution I usually dont post and try to fix problems myself. I searched your forums and tried many different FTPs, Passive mode, ASCII mode yada yada it doesnt work! Please help.... TCH-Andy
Welcome to the family From the symptoms you say, it's usually that the passive mode is not on. What FTP client are you using ?

eflanker
Welcome to the family and forums eflanker Are you on a dial-up? reliable connection? speed? Winmodem (internal)? I used to have similar problems with a winmodem and had to goto an external modem, what a difference. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi I am on regular Cable connection DUH- - it seems to work fine now byitself. Right after I posted my problem, it fixed by itself next day. Before that I was having this problem ever since i joint TCH which was over a month ago. I understand that the problem has nothign to do with your quality of service. Its a settings issue, either from client or server side. FTP does freeze sometimes, but its more like 1 out of 10 times now under heavy load, which is fine with me. It was 10 out 10 times before. So anyway I am busy building website right now. Thanks for your great service. Edited March 29, 2005 by eflanker
