External Dns

I have a client who wants to use his old DNS server (actually a URL referrer) instead of the generic TCH DNS server. If he uses the IP of the TCH server his account is on, how will that resolve to his own account (does he need to add ~username after the IP or something?). :)

Thank you,

He should add the IP address in the DNS Zone of the domain. Please note that some features, such as creating subdomains in CPanel, will not work. Any Help Desk tickets submitted should also mention that he is using external DNS so that we can avoid confusion.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Rick.

I think I understand what you wrote, but my original question: with just the IP address of the server which holds other sites as well- how will it know to access his site?

The IP address needs to be added to the DNS Zone for the domain. Whoever is handling the DNS should know what to do with the IP. That way calls to the domain will be directed to our server. Since the domain is set up on the server it will be able to find the site.

OK, I don't understand, but if it works I won't complain
