Irina Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Hi. Given the huge amount of space and bandwidth your plan has afforded me, I'm looking to install a gallery on my website. Does TCH support galleries, such as Coppermine, for example? Or even more simple versions? I've never used/installed a gallery before, so I'm not really familiar with the options, but is there ( a ) a possibility of setting one up and ( B ) any chance tech support can help with that? Thanks very much. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 (edited) You can set up a gallery like coppermine if you like. Its really easy and there are many users having galleries installed here (myself included). The TCH tech support does not install those things and don´t provide any support for scripts but are lots of people willing to give you any setup help as you might need, just ask us any questions you might have. Also, moving for organization. Edited November 8, 2004 by TCH-Thomas Quote
whoahorse Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Hey there - I use the gallery that is free with your account. Here are some of the websites I have using a gallery: http://www.hoofprints.ca/gallery http://www.ridealberta.com/gallery http://www.cybershelters.com/gallery Gives you an idea what you can do with the gallery - Weezy Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Weezy, what kind of cpanel do you have, cause there is no gallery script in cpanel that atleast I know of? Quote
whoahorse Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Weezy, what kind of cpanel do you have, cause there is no gallery script in cpanel that atleast I know of? LOL! Sorry you are right - It's monday! Thats the gallery I loaded from the info found at TCH. Weezy Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 (edited) No worries. I just wanted to clarify this so others don´t get confused, running around in their cpanels looking for it and...not finding it...like I did. Have a happy week. Edited November 8, 2004 by TCH-Thomas Quote

Irina Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 Yeah, I kind of got confused about that as well, as I checked the CPanel and didn't find any kind of gallery script there. That Gallery script looks interesting, Weezy. I'm just looking for a really simple one, honestly. Just allow me to put up thumbnails pages with links to the full versions of the images and I'm good to go. I just don't want to handcode thumbnails pages, that's all. Would anyone know if there's something as simple as that that exists out there? I'm currently at the sourceforge page and this talks about php. As my site's used mainly for storage of my graphics and email and such, I'm not really looking to code around a lot. Quote
LisaJill Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 There are scripts like that, your best bet is to take on the arduous task of going to hotscripts.com -> php -> scripts -> image galleries and browsing through. There's about 15 pages (20 per page) which is why I say arduous, but you should find something there that suits your needs. =) Quote
GroovyFish Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Irina, If you happen to have Photoshop, it can create a really simple web gallery for you. You just tell it where the photos are, select a template and a couple other customizations and click ok and it creates it all for you. All you do is just upload the results.* *I have never actually used it on a website before, I am using both Gallery and Coppermine, but I just happened to be playing (wasting time) with Photoshop today . TCH-Don Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 If you want simple IrfanView in the thumbnail mode can create a web page of thumnails with links to the full size, and slide shows as well. Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Another interesting program is Picasa? a digital image organizer, can also create web pages. My fist attempt of my new kittens Quote

Irina Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 Those kittens are adorable, Don. And thank you all for your suggestions. I have both Photoshop and Irfanview and I shall be checking out Snipe and Picasa. Your suggestions are truly appreciated. Quote
Betty1 Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I use Arles Image Page Creator. It's not near as fancy as Coppermine or any of the others, but for me it's about the only one I can use. And it has it's own built-in ftp program. It's a little costly compared to the free versions of the more well-known programs. But I wouldn't trade my Arles for anything. Quote
