FireRandySanders
If I were to upgrade from a Silver plan to a Gold, would I remain on the same server? (((please say yes)))
TCH-Don
Not sure why it would matter? But you would have to open a help ticket to ask the techs.
TCH-Andy
Hi, Generally the answer is Yes. If you move to a reseller account, then it would be to a new server - but simply from Silver to Gold - you are almost certain to remain on the same server. FireRandySanders
Not sure why it would matter? But you would have to open a help ticket to ask the techs. I was under the impression that if you had to move servers you would have to wait for your domain name to re-propagate and for our site, that wouldn't really be an option. We are looking at moving from Silver to Expert actually (misspoke). Thanks!
TCH-Don
When I moved there was no lag.
TCH-Michelle
Unless you were upgrading from a virtual account to a reseller account or vice versa your account would not have to be moved. So if you were just upgrading from a silver to an expert plan your account would not be moved.
Deverill
When you move to TCH the first time there is a DNS propagation that usually takes 24-72 hours... which is normal. After that, the Internet looks to TCH to find out specifically where your site lives. If you do happen to move from one server to another, the DNS lookup record would not need to be changed because TCH would still be providing that information. Because of this, any update caused by moving servers would be instantaneous.

In that case, if you switched servers on your host, you'd have to switch dns info, which would mean you'd have to wait for propogation. (My old host was that way... and soooo many server problems... so they switched us like every month)
TCH-Don
Thats another reason Rock Sign With one set of nameservers for all servers, there is no lag at all when you move to another server.
