section31 Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 One of the reasons I never liked invision message boards was its failure to notify me by email when i'm subscribed to topics or forums....Ex. I've been subscribed to this forum for a while now and I never get any emails stating a new topic was posted. I do have the settings properly set in my profile. oh well.
Head Guru Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I have never had a problem with getting the emails from our board. Bill
TCH-Don Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 (edited) Yep its a mystery, I get e-mail while still in a topic about a new post in the same topic ? I have always gotten e-mails while in the forum. Edited October 22, 2004 by TCH-Don
section31 Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 a mystery indeed...I checked my yahoo bulk mail too...nothing there.
Head Guru Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I contacted Invision about this issue today Section31, here is what they would like us to try. Set up another user using the same email address and then once again subscribe to the forum of your choice. At that point they would like to see if you then get email alerts. If you have time give it a shot and let me know. Bill
section31 Posted October 23, 2004 Author Posted October 23, 2004 grrrrrrrrrr.... sorry i took so long to reply...once again I didn't receive an email.... I'll go ahead and do that and see what happens... BTW, i submitted a help desk ticket just right now...it appears server23 is running out of disk space.... http://upit.section31.us/uploads/ss.png EDIT: Hey bill, i just realized you can't register as a different user with the same email address...I'll try using my email account i have with you all...it forwards to my yahoo account anyway.
section3 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 ok, i set my email board settings to enable email notifications by default and I subsribed to server 23's forum here -> http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...?showtopic=5522 I don't really want to loose my username and all my dumb posts. nooooooooo
bellringr Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 EDIT: Hey bill, i just realized you can't register as a different user with the same email address...I'll try using my email account i have with you all...it forwards to my yahoo account anyway. If you use your TCH e-mail and the server is down, you won't get anything forwarded to your Yahoo account.
TCH-Bruce Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I don't really want to loose my username and all my dumb posts. nooooooooo Just log back into the board with your section31 ID and you won't lose the posts. Bill just wanted you to create another user ID to see if you would receive the email messages.

TCH-Rob Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Sooooo, you are voting for Bush I see. OK, no more political jokes. PM me for an explanation of my response if need be but we need to keep this on track with the initial postings. My fault for the aside.
Head Guru Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Wonder what happened to our family member that was a avid Bush supporter. He was a young fellow and was very right wing. Rob, do you remember his nic? Bill
TCH-Don Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 (edited) Last I checked his site was gone. If you mean Eric. Edited October 23, 2004 by TCH-Don

section3 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Wonder what happened to our family member that was a avid Bush supporter. He was a young fellow and was very right wing. Rob, do you remember his nic? Bill oh man, i remember that dude...just looking at his sig made me vomit. btw bill, the new account didn't work. I'm still missing emails. Head Guru Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Wait looking at bush made you wanna vomit? Holly crap man, you must go into dry heaves and convulsions when you look at nader. Bill
section3 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Wait looking at bush made you wanna vomit? Holly crap man, you must go into dry heaves and convulsions when you look at nader. Bill he didn't have bush on his sig...if i remember correctly he had a republican elephant.
Head Guru Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 So wait, looking at elephants makes you sick? But why throw away a vote on nader? Makes no sense to me.
Head Guru Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I have decided this year to vote for Ronald McDonald. At least with Ronnie in office, every American would get decent priced hamburgers and salty french fries. I would not have to worry about what boat Kerry lied about fighting on and would not have to worry about wars againt terror. All the terrorist would be sent free Happy Meals and Strawberry Milkshakes. Bill
section3 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 So wait, looking at elephants makes you sick? But why throw away a vote on nader? Makes no sense to me. it will take too long to explain...but i'll make it simple Our voting system is broken... We need to break this duopoly. in ralph nader's words, "we need more voices and more choices" If u really want to know how i voted today...write-in for nader, then voted straight ticket dem except for 2 judges..voted republican since their only opponents were libertarians...and if there is anything worse than republicans, its libertarians.
section31 Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 wow i actually remembered his sig...it was the stupid republican elephant. here it is http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...p?showuser=1054
bellringr Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 But Bill - doesn't McDonalds carry only Coke products? You wouldn't be able to get cheap Mt. Dew with your cheap hamburgers and salty fries. Better vote for the Taco Bell Chihuahua instead.
TCH-Rob Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Our voting system is broken... We need to break this duopoly. in ralph nader's words, "we need more voices and more choices" Lets say we have a tight race. Say a republican has 47 percent of the vote and a democrat has 43 percent and an independant has the rest. The republican is up for re-election and you cant stand him. You dont like the democrat that much either though you think anything is better than where we are. You say you are going to vote for a third. You may as well vote to keep the republican you hate in office because he has a lead over the other two. If the 11 percent of you that voted third party voted for the lesser of the two evils there would be a new person in office. Instead you make a point that a few people can actually write a name instead of checking a box and you have four more years with a president you didnt want to see there. More voices and more choices is fine but in this case do you think it is worth it? I vote Dick as well.
jandafields Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 As I can see, most of you all are pro-Bush, so I'm sure you won't mind me chiming in here. Question: What happens if George gets 75% of the votes, whats-his-face-kerry gets 10%, and the independent-goofs get the other 15% ? Answer: We can rest peacefully knowing that the lesser of the two evils is still in power. kerry is quite spooky if you ask me...
TCH-Rob Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Well, if the polls showed 75% Bush would it even make sence to vote if you arent republican?
stevevan Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I've always been told not to talk about politics with people...you'll start less arguments and fights that way! BTW...shouldn't this thread now be moved to another topic area?
TCH-Thomas Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Steve is correct. A to all who speaks "non-allowed" things.
TCH-Dick Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I've always been told not to talk about politics with people...you'll start less arguments and fights that way! BTW...shouldn't this thread now be moved to another topic area? Lucky for us that this stayed at a peaceful level. Mostly because I think everyone keep a sense of humor about it. I am going to split this topic though. I just need a title, first reply gets it.
TCH-Thomas Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 (edited) Crazy guys talks politics, gets my vote. And by the way Dick, you get my vote in the U.S elections... Edited October 24, 2004 by TCH-Thomas
