whoahorse
I see that in their is something called .contactemail and .spamkey on the home area of the domain? What are those - does anyone know? Thanks! Weezy
TCH-Bruce
The .contactemail contains the email address you have set up in cPanel to receive info about your account. Not sure what the .spamkey is. Moving for organization.

whoahorse
I see this on all my domains? Wierd. I don't use email addys from them all just one or two? Should I be concerned? Weezy
TCH-Andy
You shouldn't be concerned, No. It is simply a file, created by cpanel, that holds the contact email address for that account. Hence it will appear for all accounts. I would suggest that you set up a contact address for all accounts though - otherwise you will not recieve notifications for issues such as the account is reaching 80% of it's space allocation. whoahorse
Thanks for the info! Oh I do set up that email contact thing now I know what you are talking about. I do that when I set up a new domain in WHM. Do you know what the spamkey is? Thanks! Weezy
oompahloompah
Spamkey is associated with SpamAssassin. It's on everybody's accounts I reckon. It's a key that if used can bypass your spam filters such that whoever uses it will be able to send email without worry about it getting filtered. oompahloompah
You're welcome, Weezy. Insert it into the subject line. I haven't personally tried it yet but do let me know if it works.
