borfast 0
From http://www.mozilla.org/press/mozilla-2004-10-01-02.html October 1, 2004. The Mozilla Foundation releases an important security update for Firefox. All users should upgrade to the latest version of the Firefox Preview Release. A patch is available for current Preview Release users. Preview Release users can update simply by going to the Preferences/Options dialog -> Advanced section and click the Check Now button on the Sfotware Updates section. TCH-Thomas 25
Since I am running a swedish version of 1.0PR.... Can I install that patch and Firefox will still speak swedish or will I have to wait for the swedish translators to have translated it?
borfast 0
I'm not sure about that, Thomas... You should probably ask that in the Mozillazine forums.

TCH-Thomas 25
The anser from my question in the mozilla forum was: Installing this update will not break any localizations. If your browser is in German, for example, it will still be in German after the update. By the way: They have a whole topic about this patch at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=138771

!!blue 0
A few days after I did the update, my laptop installation of FF1.0 PR refused to start. I tried restarting the laptop-nothing. I tried running FF on a new profile (Start > Run > C:\...firefox.exe -p)--nothing. I had to reinstall FF to get it to work again. Now the same thing happened on my computer at work. Just as an FYI, !!blue
TCH-Don 0
My upgrade just refused to run. It ran in the safe mode, so it was incompatable extensions. I had to go into C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.q9k\extensions\ and rename XUL.mfl to force it to be recreated. Still did not help so rename extensions folder and bingo! I had to reinstall extensions, but all is working. Not saying this is your problem, but I found that on forums.mozillazine.org

TCH-Don 0
You are welcome! good luck. I did lose my spell checker extension, though, I miss that. Hope they upgrade it to work on 1.0 soon.

TCH-Don 0
More of the extensions are being updated to 1.0 as time goes by. So hopefully it won't be too long before we see our favorites back.
borfast 0
FF 1.0 final is also coming out in a few days, so we'll finally have a stable plugin API (which should already be stable but... ). http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/gerv/archives/006693.html
