GatorGuy Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 When you password protect a folder, and login to it from winxp and close the browser you must log in again. But in win9x you can go right back in. Does anyone know how this works and how you can stop it? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 I just tested under Win98 and it asked for the password again as it should. Are you sure you closed the browser (all instances)? Quote
GatorGuy Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 It didn't on the win98 machine in my office at work. I will play with it more when I head back to my office. Right now I can only use my personal winxp machines. It is just a big concern for one of our sites. I need to show my clients that their folders log out when they shut the browser. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 You need to shut down all open browsers on some machines for this to be effective. Quote
GatorGuy Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 I tested it again at work and it will let me right back in. I even cleared the history and was able to reopen the browser and it never asked for a password again. So far it just seems to be that one computer. But I would like to figure out why so I can try and write some script or something to prevent it on other machines. Quote
