MoonFaery
I swear I keep running into problems with my gallery... I now get this error: Warning: fopen(/home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/albumdb.dat.lock): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/moonlit/public_html/photos/platform/fs_unix.php on line 55 Error: Could not open lock file (/home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/albumdb.dat.lock)! And can no longer create new albums. Argh! Does anyone use Coppermine? Is it recommended? I am using the gallery that you can get at sourceforge.net. borfast
Angela, that's a permissions problem, quite easy to solve, don't worry You'll have to check one thing first: does that file (/home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/albumdb.dat.lock) already exist or is it being created by Coppermine? If it does not exist, you'll have to change the permissions of the /home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/ directory to 777. If the file already exists, then you need to change the file permissions to 666. Let us know if it works out
MoonFaery
Thank you so much Raul!!! It works now Rock Sign

matman
My Gallery suddenly started doing this yesterday as well. I figured out the solution you recommended, but manually changing the permissions on all those files is going to be a headache! What could have caused all the permissions to be re-set on my dozens of gallery album directories, scattered across two different sites on my reseller account, no less! Mad!!! TCH-Rick
This is related to the problem you IMed me about with the accounts. There were a lot of files that were owned by nobody causing the problem with the quota report problems. All files were changed to be owned by your user name. Gallery is very picky about any changes at all so it returns the error. I have seen it every tim php changes as well. If you have any problems drop a Help Desk ticket and we can easily change the permissions to 777 on your album folders to correct the problem. I have done so with your domain and the gallery is not showing errors.
matman
Awesome, I'll send a helpdesk ticket to get the same thing done for the other domain having the same problem.
MoonFaery
So I take it if I submit a trouble ticket, that should help? It is weird, the permissions are set and when I first go into the album(s), it shows the error, but when I refresh it goes away.
MoonFaery
Also, when I am uploading the pictures, when it is giving the information on resizing and such: Warning: fopen(/home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/trinity/album.dat.lock): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/moonlit/public_html/photos/platform/fs_unix.php on line 55 Error: Could not open lock file (/home/moonlit/public_html/photos/albums/trinity/album.dat.lock)! matman
Yeah, but I think she was saying that the permissions ARE set correctly.
MoonFaery
I have the album folders correct at 777, but it is saying something about my album.dat.lock file not being the correct permissions. Does anyone know what it should be?
TCH-Bruce
Not sure what it should be but setting it to 666 would allow anyone to overwrite it.
TCH-Rick
Send me a PM with a link to the page giving the error and I can have a look and see what the problem is.
