Cyber-dog Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 Are the servers going to be updated with the new PHP 5 Final release? Thanks, Cyber-dog Quote
borfast Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 This has been asked a lot of times but as far as I know, the answer still remains the same: in time, TCH will eventually update PHP to version 5 but it won't be right now, because of server stability issues - TCH doesn't want to upgrade all the servers at the same time and if something goes wrong, they'll all go down. *After* PHP 5 proves itself stable, the upgrade will probably occur in some servers and then gradually all the others will also be upgraded. I wish I had it available on my account, too but it's not my server alone, it's a shared server, so TCH will not risk messing up a lot of clients at the same time Quote
DarqFlare Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 Yeah, I can't wait for PHP 5 myself... Want to start using the new class stuff. Quote
jandafields Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 What's the new cool (practical) stuff in ver 5? Quote
DarqFlare Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 PHP 5 introduces exceptions, as well as much better things in the way of classes... Quote
Billy Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Will TCH give us a heads-up before the (eventual) upgrade on our particular server? Thanks, Billy Quote
borfast Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 I can't answer that one but I'd think they will probably post a warning in the forums about it, yes. But don't take my word for it, I'm just a forum moderator, I don't know how TCH will proceed on that matter. Quote
