wiccan1
From time to time since i have set up my site on the total choice servers i will periodically get an email from the webmaster at total choice with a messae stating: "Hey! You got a new submission for your site." Can anyone tell me what this means Thanks for your help
Matt
I am not sure, but could it be a auto-notification from the forum? I have received similar messages before (although not from TCH) when people have replied to a topic I subscribed and forgot to turn off email notification. I am sure one of the TCH people can be more specific as I am not really sure.
Lianna
Honestly, that rings NO bells with me. Could you paste a portion of the email here? Also, specifically, who it the message from? Thanks. Lianna

At first i thught this may be the case as well, but everytime i get a reply from a post i usually end up with a link in my email that will take me to it. This is different....this makes about the 10th one i have recieved since i started my site. Not that it bothers me or anything...just curious as to what it is supose to mean Thanks for your reply
Lianna
Ok, so now ya got me curious. I just went to your site and looked around. I expected that maybe you had a guestbook script installed from cPanel. So I looked for guestbook, forum, mailing list. Here's my thinking. I just installed Adv. Guestbook a couple of hours ago and noticed that I can set an email address up to receive a notice when some one signs the book. .... I'm off right now to see what that email looks like.....be back soon. Lianna
Lianna
Mmm. Not from guestbook. That email comes from "nobody@theirhostaddress" like (edited): nobody@adsl-64-123-xx-xx.dsl.stlsmo.swbell.net [Lianna (still)] And the body of the message is full context of the entry left on the book. Anybody else got any ideas? Wiccan, what kinds of cpanel scripts have you installed? Lianna
TCH-Rick
The message is coming from your install of PostNuke. You apparently have the Submit News feature set up to notify you when someone submits a new article/story/news item etc. Go to the Submit News options in your admin module to turn it off if you don't want to receive the messages or edit the From field at the bottom to put in your own email address. Lianna
Well, hot dang. I was actually on the right track for knowing absolutely nothing about PostNuke, huh? You rock Rick!
TCH-Rick
I noticed on her site that there was a list of newest submissions so I suspected that might be the source. I installed PostNuke on my site and found the exact message in the admin area. PostNuke is easier to install than phpNuke, by the way. Has a nice install module. Only catch is getting the mysql database and user set up first. I also got to try out Rayners method of uploading the tar.gz file and using cPanel to unzip. That really makes the upload quicker. Learn something new every day on here.

TCH-Rick
Thanks... sometimes a hunch plays out. I had wondered how PostNuke and phpNuke differed so it was interesting to compare the installs.
