Always Get Disconnected When Uploading Big Files

Recommended Posts

Hi

I use FTP to upload my files most of the time, but I've been having problem uploading bigger files. I can never get the whole thing up before the connection is cut. I have this 80mb file that I'm trying to upload but in the best attempt I only got 8mb on there.

It doesn't let me RESUME either....

Does anyone know what might be the cause?

Any suggestion would help!

thanks in advance,

Joseph

I'm having a similar problem when uploading a lot (50Mb) of small files. I get a 'Server Timeout' error now and then. I can Resume, though. I submitted a Help Ticket and Aromal increased the FTP limit on the server, but I don't think it had any effect. I never have more than one connection open at a time. I will say that it seems to happen less often when I upload from home, where the connection is faster. I don't upload that much that often, so I figure I'll just live with it. :)

Not saying there isn't a problem just a reminder. Although you have a connection to the FTP server the packets still have to travel a path to get to the server from your machine. If something slows the packets down along the way timeouts can occur.
