spyderman Posted March 11, 2003 Share Posted March 11, 2003 I have a starter plan and I've recently started doing a lot of work on it. Most of the time, things seems relatively fast, but I've noticed that it tends to be slow at later in the night. The other night I was downloading files through SmartFTP and according to SmartFTP, my download speed was 0.85Kb/Sec. Also, when I upload images through my personal site, it is very slow too. SEO Posted March 11, 2003 Share Posted March 11, 2003 spyderman: What is your Internet connection? Most ISPs see a surge of use (and thus slower speeds) around 8-10pm. Go to toast.net and check your connection speed, compare the speeds when you feel things are 'fast' to when things are 'slow'. My bet is with your ISP. I used to work at an ISP and we noticed that some hops (routers) would slow at the same time every day. Often times due to them throttleing down or congestion. Head Guru Posted March 11, 2003 Share Posted March 11, 2003 A tracert to your IP address tells me you could be on a cable modem. If this is the case, remeber cable modems share a node.
