Mail From Php: Mail Relay Has No Reverse Dns?

Recommended Posts

A mail that was sent by my php software (Moodle) came back to me with the following remarks:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its

recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<username@cwcom.net>:

host mail.cwcom.net []: 553 Sorry. Your mail-relay has no reverse DNS, Please advise your ISP.

(I don't want to publish the complete address, so I changed the name to 'username')

These mails are sent when a user creates a new account on my site. It has been working fine for others, so I think the user's SMTP host is picky. I tried to send the mail again via my mail client, but got the same result.

What can I do to send mail to this address?

Submit a support ticket and request that a PTR record (reverse DNS) gets assigned for your server.

Edit by TCH-Raul:Mike, I edited the link to the help desk. It had HTTP but the address is HTTPS.
