kaseytraeger Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Hey everybody, One of my clients just signed up for a new TCH account yesterday (courtesy of a referral from moi!). He wants me to transfer his files over to his new web space. His account has been set up and he's received his welcome email with his cPanel username and password. Problem is, I've been trying to access his cPanel using the info in the welcome email, and I can't get in. I can see his account if I access his space via h*tp://server70.totalchoicehosting.com/~his_cPanel_username/ That's when I checked the name servers associated with his domain and saw that he hasn't yet set them over to NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM and NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM. Until the name servers are properly set, is there any other way to transfer files to his web space? Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 It should be in the welcome e-mail as or before domain name propagation http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/cpanel then login with user and password The same goes for ftp For host name use xxx.xxx.xxx.xx and again user and password and remote directory as public_html Quote
kaseytraeger Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 Don, Thanks for the info. Here's what the welcome mail says... ========================================== FTP Instructions: ========================================== You can begin uploading your files at: http://www.thevillagepantry.com or before domain name propagation 66.235.184.119 When I enter the URL given (66.235.184.119), I get a cPanel web page that says "There is no web site configured at this address." If I enter the following: http://66.235.184.119/cpanel I receive a 404 Not Found error message. Quote
arvind Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 that's odd accessing http://66.235.184.119/cpanel I get a login prompt ! Quote
kaseytraeger Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 Arvind, You are correct. I had a typo when I tried it... I used http://66.235.184.119/cPanel instead of http://66.235.184.119/cpanel Silly me! Sorry for the stupid question! (OK, ya'll can whip me with a wet noodle now! ) Quote
natimage Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 (edited) Nevermind...you got it figured out faster than I could type!!! yes...I get a login from the above link also. But...try this as an alternative: http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2082/ Edited May 23, 2004 by natimage Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Or https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:2083/ for a secure cpanel Quote
