Forms Help

I need a form that simply asks for an email address.

The form is sent to an email address set in the background, Upon hitting submit, the submitters email address receives an autoresponder from the email address set up in the background.

So Person A submits form to script. Script knows to email form to preassigned address.

Preassigned email in script sends an autoresponder to Person A.

Pretty simple, but I can't find what I am looking for on the web, and my FPSE's on here are not working.

Tech Support told me to go buy a $90 forms package, I said no and have turned to the forums.

I know it can be done. If Don's links don't have what you need then hang tight - we have some pretty doggone good PHP pros here that might be able to help.

Try the Advanced Form Handler from h**p://www.cluxa.com/products/afh/ I use it on several sites and it is a breeze. It does cost $15 but for me it is well worth it. And Alexei has been WONDERFUL with support! *

*I don't use the forum for support, I use the support request form and have always recieved a response in a reasonable amount of time. Never more than a day.

I have one that does that.

It's a modified Majordomo script.

The trick is having a script that only sends you an e-mail. Send that to a specific address. Then set up an autoresponder for that address in cpanel.

PM me for a copy of the script. Mine is set up with TWO recipients, but that's easy enough to remove.

I'm using Phorm jr on a form that works great!

Only thing, so far I can't figure how to get the authorization page to work so it will ask user to look at data before submitting (form page, auth page, confirmed send page). Have you tried that feature?

Yes, I have, and it works fine, too. It's a little tricky to visualize at first, but basically you're creating two forms, each with it's own Phorm config file. The first doesn't send any email or do any logging. It just redirects the visitor to the second form to which you've passed the form results from the first. If you look at the Docs on Phorm.com under Appendices - Appendix A - Tips it explains it in detail, if not that clearly. If you still have trouble, post here or on the Phorm forums, and I (or someone) will help out.

There are two methods of transferring files via ftp. These two methods are binary and text. Binary is generally used for images and other encoded stuff. Text is used for scripts/html etc.

Your ftp program probably has a togggle text / binary / auto - you need to make sure it goes up in ascii for this one.
