greenbriel
I moved a couple of domains over to TCH from my old host yesterday, and it looks like the mail is going to BOTH mail server. That is, the mail comes in whether I set my POP3 server to newdomainonTCH.net, or myoldhost.net. Is it just a matter of time until mail stop going to the old host (MX records, right? do they take longer to propogate) than DNS? Thx for any insight, -Gabe
TCH-Bruce
Propgation can take up to 72 hours. Sometimes longer. Edited May 13, 2004 by TCH-Bruce
greenbriel
Man you guys are quick! Dizzying! So it's normal for the mail to be able to be picked up from two POP servers at the same time? Thx, -G
TCH-Bruce
Yes, when I transferred my domain here I was getting email at the old host and here for about a week. Then the old host quit getting any more. I created an additional POP3 account in my email program and used the IP numbers for the mail servers until it settled down.
