  1. I'm digging up really old stuff here but it's on topic -

     

    I have my blackberry email set up. I also have my bb@XXX.com on TCH set to forward to my blackberry email. It sends instantaneously, the only problem is that I can't figure out how to set up my TCH email account to delete emails from its inbox after X number of days.

     

    Any help appreciated!

  2. Are they trying to use webmail or an email client? If webmail, which one?

     

    Both. As an example... After I flushed the DNS on my machine, I was able to get on the site, use the email through outlook, and log onto thw webmail through the browser.

     

    Now, My outlook no longer connects but I can log onto the webmail client and the website...

     

     

    EDIT: Now I can not get on the site at all

  3. I can get to the site from anywhere else too. Just not in the building. I will try to once again reset the router and computers in the building. Tonight we have our site scheduled to go BACK to the PHP5 server where I tested the 4images software again and it worked fine when re-installing and importing the database. Updating it by their recommendations did not work at all.

  4. Ahh I see. Well, i had basically customized our version to supply a lot more than just images. Now I need a new system where I can allow customers access with a username and password. I have not used gallery in a good year now, I am sure they have come up with some great new stuff since.

     

    It's really unfortunate that the development of 4Images has really died for the most part. It really is a quality product.

  5. So here is a little background on what is going on - Here at work I had our customer resource section of our web page set up with the 4Images gallery system. I had everything updated to the latest version, which was still pretty old, but was supposed to be PHP5 compatible. So in anticipation of TCH upgrading their servers to PHP5, I made sure we were ready to go.

     

    Well, the day came where TCH made their updates, and our resource section no longer worked. :(

     

    So I sent the help ticket and TCH graciously moved our site back to a PHP4 server in order to allow our customers access to our content once again. The problem though is that I now need to find a new resource solution, or content management software that is not only reliable and steady on a PHP5 server, but one that has continuous support as well. These are hard to find with open source programs.

     

    My questions are this - When the website was moved to the new server, the domain has to be propagated of course. Would this cause about ~50% of people in the company to not have access to email or our website? While another ~40% would have access. Then, about 10% would have access to the website, but not have access to their email (TCH in outlook)? Right now I have access to the site itself, but can not retrieve my email in house here, nor can I get on the /webmail section of the site. I can however retrieve the email on my cell phone and out of work (places like home and school).

     

    I'm somewhat confused as to why there is such an intermittance with this. TCH does such a fantastic job with helping out and answering tickets so quickly, I feel bad asking them. If I have so many questions, I can only imagine they have their hands full with others.

     

    I know I kind of rambled around there, but will this all clear up after propagation?

  6. I currently have hosting through TCH. I want to buy another domain and host another site.

     

    While I log into my domain management section, do I just buy my new domain and manage it in there with the rest that I have?

     

    I currently have two domains saved under one user account but one hosting plan. One domain is unused. I want to buy another domain and set up a new site with that one. I need to buy a new hosting plan for this one, correct?

     

    Help me understand what I need to do.

  7. I have been with TCH for years now. I have convinced the company I work for to use them for hosting, I host my personal site through them, and started up a local mustang club with TCH which is now highly successful.

     

    TCH has the best service of any host I have ever been with. The reliability, tech support, integrity, and everything else Bill mentioned could not be any more true and wonderful.

  8. Yeah, I also posted on their forums. I think I may upgrade anyway next week. I still have no idea what could cause such random occurrences though. The only thing I could think of was a database upgrade, but that would effect everything most likely and not a little bit each day.

  9. Since setting up the 4Images 1.7.2 gallery for the company I work for, many of our users had been emailing me telling me that their passwords no longer worked. I thought they may have accidentally reset them via their control panel.

     

    Today, my very own password stopped working. I had to log into the site with another administrator user and reset mine. Now it works again.

     

    Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I have never experienced this before. Random user passwords just stop working?

    This is not good and I need to find a resolution to this ASAP.

  10. I looked to see where this would best fit, and this forum seems to be the right one for the job.

     

    In any case -

     

    I am for the most part have completed the customer resource site for the business I work for.

    Part of the software we are using utilizes customers to email faculty directly from the site.

     

    In the settings of the program, I had set up my email.

     

    The software asks me if I'd like to Use SMTP server - I checked yes.

     

    It then asked me for the SMTP server host, I put in mail.XXXXpublishing.com

     

    For the SMTP username, I put in nicholasXXXX+XXXXpublishing.com

     

    I then put in my password as requested.

     

    When going to test the email function, I got this error.

    Email Error: EHLO invalid mail server response: 220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,

     

    Is there some reason why It will not work. It seems to me that TCH wont allow this kind of thing to work.

     

    If anyone can help me out, I would be highly appreciative.

  11. This friday I will be moving the domain from our old host to totalchoice where I have set up our new company website. On our old(current) host for the site, we have email addresses with our domain name. IE: nick@XXXXpublishing.com

     

    When I move the domain over the weekend, am I understanding correctly that these email addresses will no longer work because the nameserver for the domain has changed?

     

    Any insight and help in understanding this would be fantastic!
