  1. Started playing around just now (I was bored! :) ). Did a fresh install (database and all) of Joomla! 1.0.10 and haven't found any problems. The only thing I've done different than what you report in post #4 is that I haven't erased all of the content as I don't think that would have anything to do with why you get the javascript error.

BTW...looking at your posts on the other site, the site info on mine says "$mosConfig_dbprefix = 'jos_';" , and yours says "$mosConfig_dbprefix = 'mos_';" . Possible conflict, I don't know. Have you tried a totally fresh install...database and all? Also, are your running Mambo or Joomla?

  2. Reading the referenced Joomla! forum, I thought I'd add that I just installed a Joomla! website from Fantastico and all my settings were mos_*, not jos_*. And ver. 1.0.10 is the latest from the Joomla! developers.

I haven't seen the problem you're describing and I'm running two sites in Joomla and one in Mambo (soon to be converted). Keep us posted on what you find out!

  3. Yeah, I figured that, :). I'm not sure if it's my PC, my anti-virus/firewall, or ISP, but I'm getting this:

    1 * * * Request Timed Out

    for anything I try O.o

And you're still getting out to the Internet? Hmmmm...as Sherlock Holmes said many times: "Very strange." What about a ping? Same type of results?

BTW...sites load fine from the Tampa, FL area.

  4. What about an external hard disk with USB? (Just a thought.) I've gone out and bought one that I use with my work computer (government...so you know how THEY are!). I store all of my personal stuff on it. That way, there is minimal cleaning on the computer hard drive that I would have to do.

  5. Is it just me, or has anyone else seen an increase in the amount of spam getting through? This is happening on my TCH mail (yes, Spam Assassin is enabled) as well as my ISP email account. Maybe I need to just tweak the settings on Spam Assassin a bit.

Don't some people have anything better to do with their time?

  6. While I don't have any shopping carts on my sites, I would suggest that you might want to look at scripting sites like hotscripts.com. I would, however, make sure that security is of utmost importance when setting up your script. IMHO...you can never do enough research!

Maybe others who use shopping carts on a regular basis can offer up some other solutions for you.

  7. Just out of curiousity, have you plugged your pc into a good surge supressor? There are also filters available for your audio too...it just depends upon how much you are willing to spend.
