  1. He got electrocuted by trying to adjust his set while looking at a page on your web site?

Last time I checked, most monitors (I'm assuming it's a monitor) have warning labels about high voltages present. Then I would ask the question "What is he doing in someplace where he has no experience?"

Sounds like a scam artist to me! :) Let us know what (if anything) happens...this should be interesting!

  2. Great story Bob! As for the going rate, yeah...my dad is a dutchman from the "old country". He is, even in his golden years, shall we say...frugal? Said it would make me appreciate things I have even more. At first I didn't believe him and thought he was just being cheap. But now as I'm getting up there, I can understand where he was coming from!

  3. It doesn't make any difference to me either way, but I always figured that TCH would try to use the most current versions of software.

TCH DOES use the most current STABLE versions of software...The most good for the most people. Personally, I'd rather have the rock-solid stability that is TCH's reputation than cutting edge technology that still is working out bugs.

  4. Sounds like a Micro$oft "undocumented feature" has reared it's head. If you have the original FP disk(s), it shouldn't hurt to uninstall, and re-install. Remember to reboot after you uninstall to clean out the registry and memory.

  5. Ah, yes...welcome to the world of HTML Standards and Microsoft Standards! It does make things a bit hard doesn't it? :)

I use this page to make sure any HTML I write complies with HTML standards. Generally, (key word here is "generally") everything lines up ok. You may have to do a few tweaks with CSS pages, tho'. I'm sure there are other family members who can offer up many other suggestions, so we'll see!

You can also get a Firefox HTML Validation extension that you can use in your browser.
