Will the new IP be permanent? As in, should we forget about 208.76.82.25 for good, or will the IP be changed back once the repair of the old hardware is complete (I’m using an external name server)?

Hi everyone,
I made another video—
. I wrote the song back in 2001–2002 and decided to revisit it making a video on the way. Hope you'll enjoy it.Here's the original 2002 version of it.

That's great! My brother used to work at a zoo (at the aviary and then the terrarium), and I used to hang out with him quite a bit. Later he and I worked together at a live reptile exhibit. Boy was it fun!

Thank you, Bruce. Thank you, Bonnie. Oh, I see you in my Subscribers section. Neat sharks!

It's Friday the 13th and I got my 2,000th hit today!

Congratulations on your international fame!
Nice video! Great job!
Thank you, Christine!

Thank you Vivek! Thank you Andy! Thank you Stefan!
I thought the lighting was good; the really important part is the audio, which comes through crystal clear.I did quite a bit of post processing in iMovie to brighten up the picture. I lost some color on the way, so I had to compensate for that by tinting the entire image. Still, the output of the web cam is pretty noisy, and there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. I agree that the audio is important, but it would be great if along with pleasing the ear I could please the eye.
You can really hear the entire range of your bass. Are you playing direct into the computer, or are you going through a processor/mixer first? Whatever your method, it sounds great!I fed the bass into M-Audio's Ozonic audio interface and into Logic Pro. There I used Guitar Rig and Space Designer for processing. Then I bounced the track and did some post-processing in Peak. (YouTube overcompressed the audio quite a bit; I didn't know it would happen.)
Your technical facility is clean and the music itself is really sweet. I like the chord progression...this tune is reminiscent of Michael Manring, although you are clearly doing your own thing. Can you tell I'm an ex-bass player? I played 4-string primarily, in Funk, Jazz, and Blues bands. I even tried to incorporate some tapping techniques into my groove playing, kind of like Roscoe Beck, when he was with Robben Ford.Thank you! I'm actually a "faux" bass player. My main instrument is the guitar (you can see its 7-string headstock behind me in the video).
Thank you for sharing your wonderful music, looking forward to hearing (and seeing) some more. You're welcome, and I'm definitely planning to post more videos.

Sweet, that was actually really nice. Job well done
And don't forget you gotta put up more videos now - can't wait to see your next one
hehehe first Subscriber to your videos
Thank you! Yup, I saw you subscribed. I'm definitely going to put up more videos. Will take some time, though. It was a bit of a hassle to shoot with a web cam. Need a lot of light and that's still not enough.

Very nice. I really liked it.
Thank you, Mike!

Thank you, guys! I'm glad you liked it.

So, I finally came up with a video that I posted on YouTube. Prior to that I tested in on a few close friends. Almost all of them (96.4%) survived the testing, so I assume it is safe to expose the general public to it.
Enjoy!
P.S. Don't forget to link your friends to it, even if you don't like it.

Sorry, but I do not understand what's the meaning of "change the IMAP path... etc."
Oh, I wasn't referring to Horde. I was referring to email clients accessing mailboxes via IMAP. The folder structure has changed and all the mailboxes now reside in a single folder with the name of the email account. Email clients see it (in my case) as a folder called INBOX, so you need to tell this to your email client. It will create all the folders (or pick up the existing folders) within a single folder called INBOX (the actual name on the server is different).
I'm sorry if this doesn't help you. I use a standalone email client, not Horde.

Please open a help deck ticket.
I did. And . . . I figured out that in order for my setup to continue working I need to change the IMAP Path Prefix to INBOX on all my accounts on all my machines. D'oh . . .
Hope this info will help other users, if they encounter similar problems.

Oh guys, this is very . . . unexpected. My mail is a total mess now. Sent messages shows up as a mailbox inside my inbox and I can't create any new mailboxes (IMAP)
IMAP command "CREATE" failed. The server error encountered was: Invalid mailbox name.
The thing is I'm in the middle of a large project and don't have much time to spend setting up my mail again. I need to use it.

I have been a very happy Word Perfect user for many years.
It was redesigned years ago with user feedback,
what an idea
Heh. That's how Nisus Writer is being developed: http://www.nisus.com/forum/viewforum.php?f...96166296051a234

Forget what it looks like--I'm worried about how it works:
Of all the things MS could have done, their solution was MORE canned formatting effects? After all these years with their current suite I *still* can't get their dumb canned effects to get out of my way and let me work... and now they're making it even harder to personalize formatting?
Unless they change that before they release, I think someone is going to have to pay me to upgrade. A lot.
It's funny how Office (Word, in particular) is incapable of fulfilling two tasks: it's not a very good text processor and it's certainly one of the worst layout design apps. I never thought I could switch to using something else, however. But you know what? That was because I never tried. I'm a happy camper now. I use Nisus Writer Express for text processing (it's a brilliant app) and Pages for layout (although I rarely need any layout done). I haven't launched Office for a long, long time.
Conclusion: there are viable alternatives to MS Office. You just have to try them.

Terrible GUI design. I predict localization hell.

Hello,
My wife has an iMAC running O/S 9.2 and needs to run some software that requires O/S 10. I heard that it's possible to partition the hard drive so that both operating systems can be accessed.
Can you point me towards a 'how-to' for getting this job done, and share whatever 'tips' you have to make this process as pleasant as possible?
Thanks!
You do not need to partition the hard disk to do this. Just install Mac OS X on the same disk. You will still be able to switch between Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
P.S. It's Mac, not MAC, as in "Macintosh."

I wrote a review on Apple's new QuickTime 7. Take a look at it here. You might want to bookmark the page for future reference, since I'm planning to update it fairly often.

Hey all, here's my space:
Ah! An MDD G4... What can be better?

Altered photos will not be judged and will be disqualified.
Fortunately, there was no prohibition on altered desktops...as in cleaned up.
Hey! Not fair! You already got one!

Cool! I've counted three Macs so far...

Hey, that's easy: 31.
