Question: how do I know what the name of my cpanel is? On the masthead, is a chick with a laptop and the logo says cPanel X; right below it on the left its says in small print cpanel 8.
Um.. so.. what's the name? X? 8?
help,
!!blue
**SRATCH THAT***
Let's assume the following:
cpanelname = your login name for cpanel > BLUE
password = your password for the dabase (note, there is NO space between -p and password) > CRAYON
dbname = the name of your database > BIGDB
dbusername = login name for the database (?) > BLUEinDB
so assuming that, is this correct?
mysqldump -u BLUE_ BLUEinDB -pCRAYON BLUE_BIGDB | gzip -c > /home/BLUE/backups/backup-txp-demlatest.sql.gz
mysqldump -u cpanelname_dbusername -ppassworrd cpanelname_dbname | gzip -c > /home/cpanelname/backups/backup-txp-demlatest.sql.gz

yes, watch them vicious calories cuz they WILL creep up on us!
the song goes:
La cucaracha, La cucaracha
ya no puede caminar
porque no tiene,
porque le falta,
marij**na que fumar
translation:
the cockroach, the cockroach
can no longer walk
because he doesn't have
because he's missing
marij**na to smoke
I swear that's what it says... it's actually a whole song. but we won't get into that right here cuz it's a family forum

The holiday marks a great battle where a small rag-tag Mexican army defeated the larger well-dressed French army! If you're curious, read more here www.vivacincodemayo.org/history.htm Many people think it's Mexico's independance day, but that day is Sept. 16th.
And, yes, it's unofficial name is "cinco de drinko" but I won't cuz I gotta work tomorrow
have fun but not too much fun ok!

I found these JavaScript breadcrumbs to be useful: http://webmediaconception.com/de/developme...dcrumbs.en.html
They were easy to customize and all u do is add the JS file wherever u want the breadcrumbs to show up like so:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="js_paths.js"></script>
Where js_paths.js is the name of the JavaScript file.
hope that helps or at least gives u options...

Wouldn't it be great if a summary of the AWStats could be emailed to you on a weekly basis? You could choose your domain and sub-domains and the summary could be sent to you via email as a tabbed text file for instance (for minimal email size).
C'mon, I know someone out there has thought of this before, right? The question is can it be done? and how would it be done?
thanks,

btw: feel free to move this post if this is the wrong area.

Installing extensions in Thunderbird is a bit more involved than just clicking an extension on a website. See here: Mozilla Thunderbird Extensions #usage
hope that helps,

Thats interesting, works for me in FireBird and IE. Are you putting the /cpanel on the end like it shows in the URL or does it turn to that for you?
I just tried it again and now it works for me. I think I need to put in an ending forward slash (/) so it should be
https://server##.totalchoicehosting.com/cpanel/
When I left out the last slash, I was asked to download CPanel. As if that's even possible

I get the weirdest thing when I try to login to cpanel using the method above. See attached image....
What's a girl to do?
btw: the *only* reason I'm using IE is because I don't know how to add the certificate in Firefox
-
-
Just noticed
-
-
I use IE, and changing the text size did nothing.
yet another of the many reasons I don't use IE
-
First of all, the text is horribly small and I can't adjust it.
Ah.. that comes from using fixed px sizes in CSS. If TCH would want the font size to be adjustable, I'd say use "em" sizes or %'s (if using percentages, tho, it affects surrouding text and changes all nested items).
btw: if anyone's curious ab/t font sizes in CSS read this: Using Points, Pixels, Ems or Percentages

Let me be among the first to say that I love it! So clean and clear, professional AND flashy!
One of my (personal) pet peeves is the pop-up menu from the flash menu bar does not have rollovers for the bulleted links. But that's just me! When I clicked over on status on the top right, the status page has a broken image on the bottom left right above the pull-down menu for the servers (see attached). If I find anything else I'll post it here
Keep up the great work!!!

I am going to use Gallery. I didn't catch my eye *before* but now I read more into it and figured it sounded pretty good. I've already installed it
thanks again,

Thanks for the link to Gallery... I'd heard about it but didn't catch my eye.
yay!
thanks!

I want a simple image gallery script that can allow me to do this:
-
show thumbnails (I can create them)
-
show a title & short caption
-
allow clickability to view larger version--either pop up or self-page
-
be dynamically updateable--like it updates the pages by itself when new images are uploaded
So... can anybody give me any suggestions? Ideally it would be just a short script I can copy into my own html file; many of the ones I've found have their own templates with skins (ewwee). I wish I knew enough scripting to do one myself
thanks,

Thanks to all for steering me down the right path. Once I get an idea in my head, it seems to take over my life!
love to all!!!
as for moving the site, i thought i knew what I was doing until I ran into problems. I had researched it enough. but at least I know where to run to when I have problems cuz ....

Now, before everyone noodle whips me the problem *was* the .htaccess file. But not the one in the root... oh no! The secret one hidden in the blog folder itself (public_html/blog/.htaccess)... Yes the one that I never thought to look for cuz I didn't know it existed.
ARRRHRRHRHGHGHGHGHGH!!! Jeez, all this time going back & forth thinking it's like this esoteric problem and it's a little .htaccess file that wasn't being turned off. LOL LOL LOL
So now I went in and deleted ALL the .htaccess files except for the one on the root (public_html).
Let the noodle whiping commence!!!

Ok, ok, I'm now going to turn of Hotlinking Protection... Mad!!!
How long before I can see any effects? By the looks of it, the .htaccess file *does* have my subdomain added (in various ways ) so I thought it was correct but I guess not...
I'm so confused
-
Well, I did turn it off yesterday for a couple hours and it didn't help... once I turned back on, the text box had my blog subdomain listed in there and all I did was add the TCH Forums to allow the sig & all that to show up....
here's the htaccess file as it is now (all the rewrite stuff written in by CPanel's Hotlink Protection feature:
