  1. Hi folks. Hope i'm close to finding the right spot for this question~. I recently re-did the naming convention for the pics on my site ... and found it easier to do so on my backups and reloading them all. Well, project completed ... and now i have over a hundred jpgs in one folder that i want to delete because they are duplicates with inappropriate names. But in File Manager, the only option i can find for deletion is to click on a SINGLE file and select delete file. Is there a way to speed up this process so i don't have to do this a hundred times? Of course the time i've spent fiddling with it and posting here (and waiting for an answer), i probably could have done most of them by now ... , but it'll be good to know in general. TIA. EDIT: OH! I had forgotten i have a second question in a similar vein. Stupid me, i named a file with quotations around it: "vocabulary.php", and for the life of me, i can't rename it, delete it or do anything ... any suggestions on how to clear that out of there also? 2. EDIT: I didn't fully understand the above post, but i did find the redirect option in CPanel and evidently i can redirect from index.html to index.php and rename index.html so it isn't a choice for future defaulting. Yay CPanel and TCH!~ Rock Sign
  3. Hiya folks. I've been anxiously waiting to use this php tutorial since the thread started, and i finally have had a free minute to start working on it. The good news is, i seem to be getting the hang of it and i've got it working. The bad news is, i have a full index.html file out there, and now that i have an index.php file, i'm concerned about the default, and the people who may have linked the front page with "/index.html" in the url. Is there a way i can have them both there, named index with different extensions? My testing indicates that the html one is coming up as the default. What i'd like to do is make the php one the default, and put a redirect and a request to update your link in the html one. Is that possible? For the record (and the curious), the site is LennonOkun.com and the "future" default site is index.php.
  4. Thanks everyone ... when i realized that the backup on my hard drive didn't have half the list of Lennon's first, i was quite frantic. I may never empty my trashcan again.
  5. I have made a HORRIBLE error misreading the instructions on the trash can in c-panel, and emptied the trash with my index.html. This page had ALL of our updates about our son (first steps, tooth, etc), and i am FRANTIC trying to get this page restored. Any quick help would be appreciated.
  6. Hrm, so i'm basically just giving them the URL to the page i'd see when i sign in? As long as it works without giving the signin/pw, that should be OK ... i don't see the harm in putting my username up there. Thanks. =)
  7. Hi folks. I'm pretty much as novice as they come, writing only the most basic code directly into Notepad. I used the CPanel's default HTML to create a Guestbook: www.lennonokun.com/guestbook It works fine, but a few folks have said to me that they are used to Guestbooks where a visitor to the site can read all the comments. I have no objections to that, but i don't see anything in the code that will allow it. Is the problem that i used the "simple" guestbook?
