yes Bruce, I followed those instructions, allowing for the fact that I was migrating rather than doing a fresh clean install. Of course I could just start from scratch and do a clean install, but seeing as I have 1300 images, I'd rather NOT re-upload those again. I haven't even received an email back from the Gallery site re: my lost password, argh!, so I haven't been able to post this query there. what about my other question: can I put in a support ticket for this? I'm not exactly sure what falls under support and what doesn't with 3rd-party apps....

I will of course be posting my inquiry to the Gallery forums (once I recover my login information) but I thought I'd try here as well. So far, a search of Gallery's forums gets nothing really (and that site is so slow, it's more frustrating than anything). I'm moving site to TCH and trying to migrate my Gallery 2 galleries. I've installed Gallery 2 (via the .tar file, extracting within File Manager), and Tech Support has setup my MySql database. I run the Intall, and get all the way to Step 8. It gives me no errors or warnings at the "Systems Check" stage, finds the database, creates the config.php file. One thing I'm wondering.....could it be, since I haven't yet changed the nameservers over (want to have everything up and running as smoothly as possible before I do that), that this is somehow causing a conflict? Anyone with experience installing Gallery 2 and the above errors? Is this something that TCH Tech Support can help with or am I on my own here? Much thanks for any advice or solutions!

thanks bruce for the reply and thanks guys for the welcome(s). so i guess what you're saying is, is that I can leave it at the same level as public_html (i.e. not IN public_html) and it should function fine, right?

I signed up with TCH a few days ago and I'm in the process of moving stuff over from my current host. One question I have regards my Gallery 2 gallery: where do I put the "g2data" folder. From my "welcome to TCH" email, it says: However, on my current host, my "g2data" folder sits outside the "www" directory (I don't remember why I set it up that way, must have been some recommendation from the Gallery install docs). Where should I be uploading that folder to?
