  1. 70 Celcius is meltdown point.. I generally like to stay below 50 as a good rule of thumb.. any fan that does over 4500 RPM will do that for you. Mine tends to run around 42-44.
  2. See? I knew it was a dumb question. Thanks guys.
  3. Rock Sign I just setup a new site with you guys, LeagueOnline.net .. and was like when I saw that you guys DOUBLED the bandwidth and storage space on all your plans! How awesome! There is, however, one burning question I have. DigitalPimpz.com is under the starter hosting plan, but appears to still have the legacy setup regarding bandwidth/storage space. Is this something that I can have updated to match the new plan, or is it something that won't change until I upgrade to the next level? Thanks for your time, sorry to bug ya. I know you guys are busy.
  4. Sasser is now at 4 variants that are known.. there are probably more on the way. I work telephone tech support for an ISP, and we've been inundated with calls regarding this virus since Friday night when it was initially released into the wild. FYI, The 'C' variant of the Sasser CAN run on Win9x and WinME. It will not "infect" the computer, per se, but it can use a Win9x system to infect others. If you're a WinXP or Win2K owner, I would suggest checking out microsoft.com for info on how to prevent/fix infections.
  5. Blog management softwares aren't easy by nature.. but I had very little trouble in my experimentation with Moveable Type. You're best off to just install that to your CGi-BiN folder, imho... just make a directory in it called MT. Otherwise, you'll have a hell of a time getting it to do it's CGi processes correctly.
  6. Maybe I'm outta line for stepping in on this.. but I've been building PC's since the early 90's when 30pin SIMM RAM was a big deal.. oh and then 72pin.. ahhh, memories. But I digress. The one thing I want to mention here is this: Big name computer makers like Dell, HP, Sony, etc tend to use really nice name brand CPU's and Video Cards.. but the hardware that you don't hear about is generally second-rate and a lot less than reliable. This has been my experience with nearly every major-manufacturer built PC I've ever encountered. What I'm saying is.. if you want a killer system, at a really great price, my recommendation would be to buy the components and build it yourself. Either that, or get with someone who's good at it and have them do it for you... Just my opinion, I guess. Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's proverbial toes.
  7. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Stinger tool, very good for scan/removal of the nastier viral variants out there, such as blaster, sobig, mydoom, netsky. No, not an all-inclusive AV solution, but definately a useful tool.
  8. You still hiring over there boss? Just curious..
  9. Haven't seen any returned mails this weekend yet... I will be sure to let ya know if it goes southbound again. Thanks!
  10. See.... that's the thing... it has never had a problem until yesterday.. there's only two settings as far as that goes.. I have it set to use mail.digitalpimpz.com, with my main acct login as the default single account name. I'm not sure what I can change?
  11. Hey folks.. don't mean to be a bother.. but I've noticed this ongoing issue and haven't had any luck getting a live guru on AIM. First.. I'm owner of digitalpimpz.com on server 31. As some of you know, my site uses phpnuke with auto-registration. I keep an eye on the mail that gets returned, and often it's because some bright soul didn't put in a real email address.. but this is an alarming trend : This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: -=-=-=-=-=-=- cryption_ice@hotmail.com unrouteable mail domain "hotmail.com" ------ This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ------ Return-path: <X@digitalpimpz.com> Received: from nobody by server31.totalchoicehosting.com with local (Exim 4.24) id 1AAcyf-0003uA-0m for cryption_ice@hotmail.com; Fri, 17 Oct 2003 18:21:45 -0400 To: cryption_ice@hotmail.com Subject: New User Account Activation From: X@digitalpimpz.com X-Mailer: PHP/4.3.2 Message-Id: <E1AAcyf-0003uA-0m@server31.totalchoicehosting.com> Date: Fri, 17 Oct 2003 18:21:45 -0400 -=-=-=-=-=-=- This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. The weird thing is, I saw them from webmail, and so I just, for shits and giggles, forwarded them to their respective email addresses, and they have not been returned. So I'm entirely open the possibility that it's a problem with my config.. but I'm reading the headers and not seeing it.. any help would be appreciated. I'm heading off to bed after a long night of insomnia, but you can IM me at TheManKnownAsX on AIM if ya want.. I will check the forums when I wake up. Also, if any of ya'll want to come down, my friends and I are hosting "Brewski Saturday" at Tripper's in Lansing. Come on down and tilt one back with us. Thanks in advance.
  12. Honestly, brotha, I believe every word you are saying. They seemed like duller knives in the ol' knife drawer of life.. As far as moving me to a different server, I'm not worried about it right now. That was just _one_ user out of 126 that have signed up since I officially opened just over a month ago. As far as you guys supporting/not supporting spammers... if I thought you were supporting spammers, I wouldn't have purchased my service from you.. I know ya'll rock and you're smarter than to let some lamer use your systems to propogate spam around the world. Glad to know you're aware of the sitch with them tho. That's all I wanted to find out.. Rock Sign
  13. While we're on the subject of mail sending issues.. I have this returned mail to show you folks.. This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: calzuky@usa.com SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<calzuky@usa.com>: host usa-com.mr.outblaze.com [205.158.62.27]: 554 EMail from mailserver at 63.247.72.186 is refused. See http://spamblock.outblaze.com/63.247.72.186 Not sure if this is the right place to put this.. but this was a return mail from an attempted user-signup over at my site (digitalpimpz.com). Looks like this guy won't be getting his activation email.. lol.
  14. Hey folks. I run www.DigitalPimpz.com (which, believe or not, is not a I AM A SPAMMER site.. lol). I joined TCH hosting mid-summer, and I have to say.. it's awesome. You guys are stellar. This is coming from a guy who works for an ISP/Telephone company, so I definately know how hard it is to provide world-class service on a minute-by-minute basis. You guys go the extra mile, having one of your gurus on both Yahoo and AIM to answer questions/issues, the java operator thru your website.. I'm just floored. Whenever something goes awry, ya'll are there to help me out. That's good stuff, ppl. Hell, you even stayed up thru the ENTIRE Blackout 2k3.. lol.. let's just say the ISP I work for wasn't as fortunate. Anyway, don't mean to take up yer time, I know you are all busy ppl. Incidentally, if any of ya feel like signin' up and posting on the forums at my site, that would be cool. Most of the users there are from Michigan, anyway. Take care, keep kickin' arse and takin names. Peace.
