  1. Thanks Can you tell I'm a newbie
  2. This is a linux box, so is this going to cause problems?
  3. TCH-Andy Thank-you for your concern, yes this server allows php, and cgi. (No this site isn't going to be hosted on Geocities LOL). Hopefully this is a small script as I have just started playing with php.
  4. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the script I need, or the language. I'm looking for a small script I can add to a web page that will allow no more than 4 people to fill in a form box and add a reply up to the html page. I wish I knew what I was looking for but I'm totally clueless. I've looked at Hot Scripts and the only thing I can find is something like a forum board and that is just w a y to large for what I'm trying to do. Oh, and I need to be able to have the persons name by their reply. (It's gettting to where this is the place I come to when I have a problem. You guys are great!!)
  5. Thanks for all the replys. I appreciate it. TCH-Bruce Thanks for the link and info on this editor but this one is a little pricey for me If I were going to code CGI a lot this would be the one. As it stands I'm just trying to broaden my coding skills a little. Again, thanks for the feed back. P.T.
  6. I'm looking for something along these lines. (quoted below) Does anyone know of anything any better? Or, does anyone know anything about this one? Good/Bad/Mediocre? I saw this posted in a classroom forum. ?
  7. I have started a CGI/Perl class and we have started writing some really basic scripts. It didn't take me long to figure out I couldn't write this is my usual editor. For now I writing my scripts in NotePad. I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a nice CGI/Perl editor that will let also let you change to "view" so you can see your script?
  8. I use Macromedia's Homesite 5.0 to create and FTP my files. It's the only thing I've ever used. I really like it. I've seen so many posts about Cute I may give it a try too.
  9. I have to say Thank-you for the instructions posted on doing this. TCH-Glenn, you saved me the money of buying a new application for this neat effect as well as the professional "look" it has given some of my sites.
  10. I was just curious as to how everyone else got interested in web design. I took a basic computer class many years ago and my instructor mentioned another class she taught and said she thought I might find it interesting. (Basic HTML) I've been hooked every since.
  11. Yep, sad but true. Where did the years go?
  12. Great ideas. I loved them all.
  13. Here's the boss in our house. (She's our little weenie dog, a real sweetie).
  14. I'm a newbie here but I thought I'd share my 2¢. I've used Macromedia's Homesite 5.0 for years. It's a nice editor for those who like to hand code and it's not just limited to HTML. I use it for just about all my coding. I also have Dreamweaver 4.0. Dreamweaver is nice to use too as I create most of my nav bars and graphics in either Fireworks 4.0 or Flash 5.0. Importing them is a breeze with Dreamweaver. I guess it's just all up to what you want to do and how you like to do it. There are some other nice editors out there but I've sort of committed myself to Macromedia, seeing as how expensive these appys are, I just haven't rushed out to get anything else. I'm using TopStyle Lite for a CSS editor but am looking to see if I can find any others . Got any suggtestions?
