Guest Cecco
Hi, I'm currently running my site on a different host but I'm considering transfering to a new host since it is becoming quite expensive at my present host due to the amount of traffic that my site recieves. Would you transfer my entire site including my databases for me or do I have to do it myself? How long would it take to transfer my site over to you once I've registered my new account? P.S. If I do sign up with ***** I will opt for the Gold plan! Thanks
knucklehead
Is your current host a CPANEL host? If so and your site is not to large, we could do this for you at no charge. We can not promise it will transfer, as larger sites tend not to move over well. We will move your site over right after we activate your account. Providing its a cpanel host. Cheers! Guest Guest
Yes it's a CPANEL host! My site is about 130 mb but I don't know if that includes the 40 mb of my forum database! Once my account has been activated can we work out a date and time to move my site, this way I can notify my members about the move so no posts are left behind at my previous server. When my previous host switched over to new servers they did not notify me causing me to lose about 1000 posts Thanks
knucklehead
Yes we can work that our. I want to make one point clear. We can not promise it will transfer. Why dont we do this. Submit a tech support ticket and before you sign up we can try to move it over to our servers. No charge to try. If it works then great, you go sign up and we give you access to your new site. If it doesnt work then we can figure out what else to do? Sound like a plan? If so, you will need to submit the following to our help desk. IP address of old site. Cpanel Username and Password of old site. Name of old Hosting Company. Thanks
Cecco
Great, I'll do that! Thanks!

knucklehead
No Go! Either your account is to large and times out the servers are your old host has slow connection, or they have disabled the feature. You will need to do the transfer tha old fashioned way. Sorry - Mikey
Cecco
Ok thanks! I'll have to do some research on how to get my database over! I'll keep in touch! Thanks again for the quick support!
Cecco
One more question Will I have access to phpMyAdmin in my control panel? I can see that it's there in the Cpanel demo but I just want to make sure because I will need it in order to restore my databases! Thanks

Cecco
It's me again, I apolgize for being a pain in ***, but I just want to make sure of all the little things! Knucklehead, I don't know if you've visited my site yet, it's quite large and receives quite a number of visitors a day, the forum usually has around 15-20 people online at all times but this number may well increase in the near future. I've read elsewhere that some hosts are a pain in the neck when it comes to dealing with large forums. Will you have any problems when my phpBB2 forum will have about 30-40 people online at the same time? Will it cost me extra to point lazioworld.org to lazioworld.net? My Site My Forum P.S. I'm currently with JaguarPc, I used to be with Aletia but they since sold to Jag! Thanks
httpboy
You have read correct. The reason we are such a pain in the backside is because such a site would use a lot of system resources. You must remember that your site is hosted on a shared server. What plan are you going to purchase? I will need to run this by our Techincal Services Manager to make sure that your site would not cause a problem. Let me know what plan your looking at and I will find out for you. Cecco
I'm looking at the Gold Plan, it suits my needs perfectly in terms of space and monthly data transfer! Looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks
