  1. Did we ever get to a conclusion about why some email addresses do not accept the emails from the PHP mail() function? I am currently having this problem and ripping my hair out trying to find out between like 3 different places why the emails are not being sent through.
  2. Please look at www.jo-danmotors.com for an example of how I would like this to print.
  3. Hi, thanks for the reply. Hmm, so what you are saying is open the first table row, then for each.. ><td> <table> <tr> <td>Car $i</td> </tr> <tr> <td>$model</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Stock $stock</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Price: $price</td> </tr> </table> </td> I see what you are saying, just keep adding <td>'s.. I know that it would get really wide, I would like to keep it at 2 cars per line. I guess to fix that I would assume I would have to just write some code that increases a counter after every subtable is printed and then have a snippet that asks 'if the counter is less than the total number of cars in the select statement and if there has been two subtables already printed, then create a new row and add the subtable there.' Do you think that would work?
  4. Hello everyone. I am stuck on a logic problem. I am trying to print out data from a database in a horizontal table format, not vertical, and I'm just not getting a way to do it! For example, say theres a used car database. I have no problems using a while loop and printing the cars like this : >Car #1 1999 Honda CR-V Stock# 123 Price 4999 Car #2 2000 Honda Civic Stock #464 Price 5000 But how do I go about printing the cars in a horizontal format like this, with different record information in the same row? >Car #1 Car #2 1999 Honda CR-V 2000 Honda Civic Stock 123 Stock 464 Price 4999 Price 5000 I've tried using for loops, while loops, and arrays. But I can't figure out how to access the different fields in order to print side by side in a table! Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your help.
  5. Does anyone see where the error is? Or should I try changing the coordinates?
  6. Andy- Thanks for the reply. However, I'm not understanding where the error is. The submenu coordinates appear the same. They were unchanged. The only thing that I have changing from one page to the next is the 'swap image' behavior. If you are on the 'specials' page, then it should show up as in the 'over' state and not swap the image, which is working fine.
  7. Hello everyone and happy new year! I am making a site using Dreamweaver, using Fireworks for my graphics. I made a navigational bar with some pop-up menus (pop-up maker built into Fireworks), but for some reason my submenus change location! Go here to see the page and read my notes below: Nav Bar Example This nav bar is simple. There are 6 links, Showroom,Store,Specials,Credit, Directions, and Contact Us. Two links, the Showroom and Store, have pop-up menus underneath them. For purposes of showing the example, only 3 pages are working, the 'Specials.php' page, the 'atv.php' page, and the 'parts.php' page. When you open the page, you will see you are on the specials.php page. I am using PHP to display the white 'over' state depending on which page you are on. Now, mouseover the 'SHOWROOM' and 'OUR STORE' buttons. See how the menus appear below the buttons? That's how they are supposed to show up. Mouseover the 'SHOWROOM' and click on ATVs. You are at the ATV page, but mouseover the SHOWROOM menu again. See, it changes locations!!!! Do the same for the 'OUR STORE' and click Parts page. Now the other one has returned to normal and the OUR STORE menu acts up. I can't figure out why they are changing like that, unless I'm missing tags or something and it's screwing it up. BTW, I haven't put any closing body or html tags on the pages yet. I am using IE v.6. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks! Sarah
  8. I believe it is something within the router. I am going to check with my landlord (who owns the router) and tell him to check the firewall. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks.
  9. The help desk said it was an issue with my ISP. I connect wirelessly to a router using Verizon DSL, but I doubt it is anything to do with them. I think this may be a problem with the router's firewall. Do you think it is blocking port 21 by default? What port does cPanel use? I'll bet it is blocking those ports.
  10. Ok, I'm at the computer now. Yes, the FTP is set to passive mode. It OK's my password and then says... 227 Entering Passive Mode (69,50,210,183,60,103) Opening data connection to xx.50.210.183 Port: 15463 MLSD A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. Timeout (50s). Active Help: http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/index.php/74 Client closed the connection. Automatic failover of data connection mode from "Passive Mode (PASV)" to "Active Mode (PORT)". Does anyone know what that means? I used the default settings here and at work but I can connect at work just fine. I also tried logging on to my Cpanel now, and I get 'page cannot be displayed'.
  11. I am in Pennsylvania and I tried doing a tracert. here's what I got: tracert www.richardgeary.com Tracing route to richardgeary.com [69.50.194.231] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 * * * Request timed out. 2 26 ms 24 ms 23 ms 10.96.0.1 3 38 ms 50 ms 68 ms gateway-fa0-0-0-002.wb3.ptd.net [24.229.89.70] 4 48 ms 31 ms 43 ms gateway2-atm1-2-306-sm22wb2.sm.ptd.net [207.44.1 24.201] 5 34 ms 29 ms 27 ms POS4-1.GW2.PHL6.ALTER.NET [157.130.43.33] 6 26 ms 63 ms 26 ms so-7-0-0.cl2.phl6.alter.net [152.63.37.178] 7 31 ms 74 ms 38 ms 0.so-5-1-0.xl2.dca6.alter.net [152.63.38.210] 8 40 ms 30 ms 26 ms pos7-0.br3.dca6.alter.net [152.63.38.121] 9 28 ms 38 ms 27 ms 204.255.174.30 10 31 ms 37 ms 28 ms ge-4-1-0--0.cr02.mcln.eli.net [207.173.115.158] 11 67 ms 74 ms 58 ms so-0-0-0--0.gw01.atln.eli.net [207.173.113.46] 12 79 ms 69 ms 59 ms so-0-0-0--0.cr01.dlls.eli.net [207.173.113.41] 13 117 ms 95 ms 65 ms so-7-0-0--0.cr02.dlls.eli.net [207.173.115.118] 14 120 ms 93 ms 99 ms so-0-0-0--0.cr02.phnx.eli.net [207.173.113.113] 15 102 ms 111 ms 93 ms ge-7-0-0--0.gw05.phnx.eli.net [207.173.113.98] 16 106 ms 93 ms 185 ms gw0-cust-atjeu-com.phnx.eli.net [70.98.188.242] 17 94 ms 184 ms 105 ms server36.tchmachines.com [69.50.194.231] Trace complete. 12. Did you just get your account set up? It could be that is has not propegated yet....
  13. Well, once again I've figured out my problem. I think it was a combination of the returning values and how the code snippet was originally written. I revised the function to this: >function VALIDATE_USPHONE($phonenumber){ if ( (preg_match("/^[0-9]{3,3}[-]{1,1}[0-9]{3,3}[-]{1,1}[0-9]{4,4}$/", $phonenumber) ) == TRUE ){ return TRUE; } else{ return FALSE; } } and my function call to this: >if (!@VALIDATE_USPHONE($_POST['phoneno'])){ $msg=$msg."Please enter a valid phone number.<br>"; $flag = "NOTOK"; } And it worked fine. Thanks for everyone's help.
  14. I believe it has something to do with the returning value. But I'm not quite sure how to handle it...
