thegeekstore
Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to cloak an URL. Let me explain my situation and maybe everyone will understand better.... I've installed osCommerce and am trying to use it with SSL. when i go to the checkout page the URL on the address bar is serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com/~mycpanelname instead of my domain. I'd very much like for it to be my domain name. Also, I'd like for the URL to cloak throughout the entire site, so anywhere I go the address bar will only show : www.thegeekstore.net (my domain). Is this possible? Please help! Thanks! Aasha P.S. I tried searching the forums but i keep getting error messages. so sorry if this issue has been posted before. james8547
you can try using mask forwarding. I'm not sure if it would work though.
thegeekstore
I've read the FAQs about SSL just now and it seems that if you're using the free/shared ssl then you'll get the serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com/~cpanel name instead of your domain. I'd like to have everything just be my domain name, but I am very cheap and poor. thanks anyway...
MikeJ
Yea. SSL certificates validate to the URL requested, so you are out of luck unless you purchase an SSL certificate that matches the web address the browser requests. No level of cloaking/masking wil help there.
