  1. I hope this is the right board to post this question. I have a forum with smf and when I went to it today, I got this warning message about the cache directory not being writable. I didn't make any changes to the forum so I was wondering if this has anything to do with my database.
  2. Thanks for the visual showing me what you did. And yes, I am trying to install this from Softaculous.
  3. I want to install this on my website but I'm not sure how to do it. I know I have to install the software and when I click on it to install it, the first line is asking for the url. It shows my domain but the next space is for a directory. I don't know if I'm supposed to put it in a directory and if so, is this a directory that I've created? It has a line for administrator email. Do I change what's there to an email I use? Right now it's showing admin@mydomain. I've never used that. Under the advanced tab, it shows a database name. Do I use what's there and if so, do I have to have to give it a password? There's no line for password so would I have to create one some place else? Sorry for sounding so dumb.
  4. Thanks so much for explaining how to do this. It was easy.
  5. I created a page on my site and decided I wanted to change the name because the name is too long. Is it possible to change the name but if people type in the old name it will go directly to the new name?
  6. Is there still a plug in for creating a photo gallery and if so, where can I find it?
  7. I got that solved but now I have another password problem but it doesn't have to do with cpanel so I'll post my problem in another forum.
  8. Now I really feel stupid. I figured I'd try the password one more time and realized I used a capital letter when it should have been lower case. I guess I didn't lose my password after all.
  9. Thank you. I see I should have read that password line a little more carefully since they said the exact same thing you said. I guess I just panicked when I noticed they were asking for a password. I've submitted a ticket so hopefully this will get straightened out. In the meantime, I had looked all over again for my password and I thought I found it only every time I typed it in I got a message saying invalid. Maybe I changed it and forgot to write down the new password.
  10. I know this is an old post but I have the same problem. I'm always so good about writing down my passwords but some how or other I lost my cpanel password. I just restored my computer back to factory settings so I need to put in my password again for cpanel and I can't find it. I was going to submit a ticket, but they want my password but since I can't find it and I forgot what it was, I don't know how to submit a ticket. I don't know what to do.
  11. Thanks for that link. Now I'm a little worried that some of my passwords could have been compromised.
  12. Thanks. I actually downloaded one called winscp and it seemed to work ok. It was free and didn't look as if it loaded any spyware.
  13. I don't use Firefox but if there's no other choices, I can look into it. Thanks for your suggestion.
  14. I used to use Filezilla to upload my files to my site. I haven't had to use it in a long time because I do most of my work and uploading in Dreamweaver. I needed to use it yesterday but had to do a new download. After downloading it, first it didn't work and more importantly, it installed malware. I have since removed it and ran some malware software that got rid of 714 items all related to the software that installed when I installed Filezilla. Can someone recommend a good ftp program, preferably one that's free?
